The effects don’t just stop at health care. The Republican budget cuts threaten access to food for nearly 50,000 VA-04 residents who receive SNAP benefits to feed themselves and their families.
Who could lose coverage?
Elderly and disabled adults. Individuals who need breast or cervical cancer treatment. Pregnant and postpartum mothers. People with disabilities, chronic health conditions and behavioral needs.
The impacts would be felt across the Commonwealth.
In Virginia’s Fourth, 138,742 people are enrolled in Medicaid or CHIP. Nearly half of them are under the age of 19.
These Republican budget cuts would put all of these people at risk.
