1/ I was glad to be back in Western Sussex County recently—this time to tour Royale Pigments & Chemicals’ new manufacturing site in Seaford. Royale develops specialty colorants used in paints, coatings, & flame-resistant materials.
Great to join Meals on Wheels Lewes-Rehoboth to deliver meals. Meals on Wheels is a vital community partner here in Delaware—helping our most vulnerable neighbors live independently and with dignity.
What a difference a year makes:
2024: Marketplace enrollment hits an all-time high.
2025: Premiums spike by as much as 35%.
Trumpcare isn’t just reckless—it means our neighbors lose coverage, ERs get more crowded, and health care costs go up for all of us.
Another unconscionable act of violence has shattered yet another community—this time at a Catholic grade school in Minneapolis, MN. Students deserve more than thoughts and prayers—they deserve to be safe at school. My heart is with the victims, the injured, and their families as they grieve.
Great to cut the ribbon on the Delaware Black Chamber of Commerce (DEBCC)’s new headquarters and incubator space this morning! The DEBCC empowers Black-owned small businesses across our communities—and I'm proud to be working with them to champion entrepreneurs and innovators from all backgrounds.
Donald Trump is (again) being reckless with the American economy. By threatening to fire Federal Reserve Governor Lisa Cook, he’s creating instability at the Fed—raising prices and threatening YOUR retirement savings. He’s gambling with working people’s paychecks.
3/ As we reflected on the courage to keep fighting for democracy, I was humbled to receive the Courageous Leader Award—recognition of our shared commitment to protect our democracy from authoritarian power grabs.
2/ I was grateful to join Rev. Dr. Ronald Whitaker of Mother African Union Church, his congregation, community members, and leaders including Lt. Gov. Kyle Evans Gay, New Castle County Executive Marcus Henry, and Mayor John Carney to mark the start of this year’s festival.
1/ Each year, the August Quarterly Festival—our nation’s longest-running celebration of religious freedom for Black Americans—brings Wilmington together to honor the legacy of Peter Spencer, founder of the first independent African American church in the United States.
2/ These improvements, made possible in part by federal funding, will boost railway safety and efficiency while growing our regional economy.
1/ Stopped by the Delmarva Central Railroad headquarters in Harrington alongside @coons.senate.gov & @bluntrochester.senate.gov to check in on the infrastructure upgrades being made to its tracks, highway and road crossings, and bridges.
2/ But this is more than an investment in our economy—it’s an investment in opportunity, made possible by a strong network of partners committed to Kent County’s future.
1/ Today we broke ground on the new Harrington Industrial Park, which will create hundreds of jobs and strengthen our state’s economic growth—thanks to a federal investment secured by @coons.senate.gov and @bluntrochester.senate.gov last Congress.
My office will be hosting Mobile Office Hours at the Route 9 Library in New Castle on Monday, August 25, from 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM.
Our Constituent Advocate Team will be on hand to help with a wide range of issues—from federal tax refunds to passport renewals.
This president is taking notes from his favorite dictator. Let’s be clear: a president with popular policies wouldn’t need to illegally gerrymander districts, ban voting machines, or abolish vote-by-mail. This is an all-out assault not just on free & fair elections—but on American democracy itself.
While in Harrington last week, I joined Delaware Electric Cooperative for its annual meeting—a great opportunity for members and the community to come together, hear important updates on DEC’s efforts to lower electric rates across the state, and discuss how elected leaders can help.
Mike Castle was a giant in Delaware politics—having served in the state House and Senate, as Lieutenant Governor, Governor, and in the very seat I now hold in the U.S. House. My deepest sympathies are with Jane and all his loved ones as they grieve this great loss.

2/ I’ll continue to use my voice to protect these benefits—and the people who depend on them.
1/ Today marks 90 years since Social Security became law—providing generations of Americans with the benefits they’ve earned. Congress should be working to protect and expand Social Security, not cutting the staff that administer it, like the Trump administration has done.
