Happy Earth Day! In Delaware our natural resources are sources of tourism, agriculture, economic growth, and vibrant beauty—and it is our responsibilty to protect that beauty however possible. We know well that the impact of climate inaction will be felt heavily by our neighbors right here at home.

Biotech is shaping the future of health care & agriculture—so we must act to prepare the next generation to lead in this field. That's why I introduced the bipartisan Biotechnology for All High School Students Act to give students and teachers the resources they need to continue driving innovation.

I just voted—again—for a War Powers Resolution aimed at permanently ending the reckless, illegal war in Iran. Delawareans are fed up with rising costs because of this president's actions—so I will keep voting to end this war of choice at every possible turn.
On this #TaxDay, my neighbors are facing broken promise after broken promise: 65% smaller refunds than promised, spiking health care premiums, and rising costs across the board—all while billionaires get a pay day. Americans are worse off today than they were before the Big Ugly Bill became law.
On Yom HaShoah, we honor the memory of the millions of innocent Jewish people murdered during the Nazi regime. Today and every day, we must stand unequivocally against antisemitism in all forms to ensure that Never Again is more than just a phrase, but a promise we make to our Jewish neighbors.
1/ Delaware’s health care technology industry brings manufacturing and innovation to our state, providing resources for life saving care. I was happy to meet with leadership at Zimmer Biomet, a leading diagnostics facility in Claymont.

It was great to speak with members of the Southern Delaware Alliance for Racial Justice about their efforts to increase civic engagement and protect voting rights for our neighbors. Participating in our democracy is critical to ensuring our future & I am deeply grateful for the work they are doing.

Financial literacy skills are essential in preparing our students for their future. It was wonderful to see the work the Junior Achievement of Delaware’s Experiential Learning Center is doing to invest in our young citizens and their future.

Our beaches are not just vital drivers of tourism in Sussex County, they provide vital protections for my neighbors that call eastern Sussex home. The Indian River Inlet Sand Bypass System is a critical piece of that work—protecting and strengthening a cherished natural resource of our state.
I had the pleasure of hosting, alongside my colleagues Senator Coons and Senator Blunt Rochester, impressive young Delawareans and their families at our Service Academy Night in Dover. It was an honor to meet these bright students who are exploring a path of service to our country!

1/ A lot has happened this week and this is a serious and deeply consequential moment. It’s not one to celebrate or minimize. It’s one that demands clarity, accountability, and a clear path forward. Read my thoughts in a special edition of my weekly newsletter, the McBride Memo. ⬇️
Happy National Public Health Week! From rural providers in Sussex County, to nonprofits in Kent County, to major hospital systems and federally qualified health centers in New Castle County—our public health providers are foundational to the care infrastructure here in Delaware.
