I was a little early to the North Center Neighbors Association's Holly Jolly Market over the weekend but it just meant that I got first dibs on some holiday cookies!
As many Illinoisans prepare to travel for the holidays, being #WinterReady can ensure your trip isn't ruined by the weather. ⚠️ Check local forecasts and warnings before you travel. Visit the National Weather Service or the FEMA App for alerts.
Last week I stopped by the 47th Ward Senior Holiday Luncheon to enjoy a meal with some of our neighbors and hear about how their 2024 went. Thank you to the volunteers and everyone who said hello!
The world's richest man said the government funding bill didn't have enough perks for him and his friends, so Republicans have cut things like childhood cancer research to give tax breaks to Elon Musk and make it easier for other billionaires to ship jobs overseas.
Today marks the U.S. Space Force’s fifth birthday. To all Space Force Guardians, thank you for fighting for a safer, stronger future for our country.
Instead of standing up for the people they represent, House Republicans are so scared of our new oligarch Elon Musk that they are going along with a government shutdown that will hurt the American people. Republicans can either side with Elon Musk or they can side with families.
Over the weekend, I attended the Japanese American Service Committee Holiday Delight and Kodomo Matsuri. It's always a pleasure to visit local holiday events and learn about what matters most to community members.
The ERA has met all the requirements to become the 28th Amendment—it’s now just a matter of paperwork. I’m joining my colleagues in urging @POTUS to publish the ERA before the end of his term. #ERANow
With winter storms comes a higher risk of car accidents, hypothermia, frostbite, carbon monoxide poisoning, and heart attacks from overexertion. Be #WinterReady before it's too late.
The holiday season can be particularly hard on families with loved ones in the hospital. It was a pleasure to meet with the hard-working caregivers at Lefkofsky Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at Lurie Children's Hospital and to help put a smile on the faces of some of the smallest patients.
This year, I helped bring home over $458 million for Chicagoland projects! From improving public transportation in the Chicago area to supporting local parks, I'm dedicated to making sure our district has the resources it needs to flourish.
The holiday cheer continues! I had a wonderful time at the Ravenswood Manor Holiday Lighting Ceremony this weekend. The cocoa was fantastic and the company was even better! ☕ 🎄
On this day in 1773, the Sons of Liberty staged a protest that eventually grew into the American Revolution. Protest played a key role in the founding of our nation. RT if you agree peaceful protests should remain safe and protected.
I cosponsored a resolution to name December 16, 2024, the National Day of Awareness for Missing and Murdered Black Women and Girls. Despite making up less than 8% of the population, Black women and girls account for more than 1/3 of missing and unidentified persons.
