16 MILLION Americans will lose their health care because of Trump's One Big, Ugly Bill, per the nonpartisan CBO today. What are these families to do if an emergency happens? If an urgent medication or treatment is needed? This is pure cruelty and greed, plain and simple.
Happy #PrideMonth! As a proud member of the Equality Caucus, I’m working every day in Congress toward a more equal future and will continue to fight for and defend the LGBTQI+ community from attacks on all fronts. 🏳️‍🌈
Really appreciated the opportunity to host another great town hall last night—this time in Northbrook—where hundreds of community members joined us for a thoughtful conversation about these unprecedented times in Washington. Thank you to everyone who attended in person or tuned in via livestream.
Charlie Rangel was an American patriot, Korean War veteran and the first Black chair of the powerful Ways and Means committee. I always enjoyed hearing him regale Members of the committee with tales of bipartisan work to pass major legislation under his leadership. May his memory be a blessing.
Yaron Lischinsky and Sarah Milgrim should be with us today. They’re not because of hate. We must honor Yaron and Sarah’s memory, and ensure it is a blessing. We will not back down in the fight against antisemitism. We belong here.
This morning, I voted NO on the GOP tax scam. NO to taking healthcare away from 14 million people. NO to taking food assistance away from millions of families. NO to raising costs across the board for the poorest in the country to help Trump’s super rich friends get richer.
It’s horrifying to see what appears to be antisemitic violence right here in the nation’s capital. While authorities complete a full investigation, we must come together and say “Am Yisrael Chai.”
Reports indicate that 2 Israeli embassy staff were murdered & others were possibly wounded tonight outside the Capitol Jewish Museum in DC in what is being investigated as a terror attack. Praying for the victims, their families & the community as we anxiously wait for more information.
Schneider: Many of the areas they represent have the highest need for support from Medicaid, and many families in those districts rely on SNAP.. But what we’re seeing is Republicans in Congress aren’t representing their districts—they’re kowtowing to Trump.
The GOP agenda in a nutshell: stealing health care and food assistance from hardworking American families so they can line the pockets of billionaires like Elon Musk. No wonder they've been pushing through this budget scheme in the dark of night. www.politico.com/news/2025/05...
Heartbroken at the loss of our dear friend and colleagues, Rep. Gerry Connolly. My deepest condolences to his family, staff, and loved ones. May his memory forever be a blessing.
Rep. Gerry Connolly was a truly beloved member of the New Dem family who fought every day to improve the lives of his constituents and the American people. Statement from New Dem chair @repschneider.bsky.social.
