Tomorrow, my team will be out and about across the 13th District to help folks with constituent services! Stop by our mobile office hours at the locations below to get all your casework questions answered!
The shooting at the Islamic Center in San Diego is an absolute tragedy. My heart is with the victims, their families, and the entire community affected by this senseless act of violence. Hate has no place in this country -- not now, not ever.
Housing costs are crushing working families. Nobody working full-time should be one bad month away from losing their housing. That is not acceptable – and my colleagues and I New Democrat Coalition are fighting to change it.
61 years ago, Head Start was created with a belief that every child deserves a fair shot – no matter their zip code or family’s income. Since then, it has delivered early learning, nutrition and family support to millions of working families. #StandForHeadStart
Rural communities deserve the same opportunities as anywhere else in this country. That means expanding reliable internet access, accessible healthcare, and lowering the cost of living. My colleagues and I at @newdems.bsky.social have a plan to accomplish it.
ICYMI: This week, the House passed a bill I co-led to allow for the sale of E15 year-round. This is promising news for our farmers and for folks facing skyrocketing prices at the pump. I’m calling on the Senate to pass this bill and put people before politics.
Thank you to our Spring 2026 intern class! This group of public servants came to our office ready to serve – and they have delivered every single day. I am so proud of them and know they will be strong leaders in their communities.
As Vice Chair for Policy of the @newdems.bsky.social, I believe that no family should have to choose between getting care and paying their bills. That means protecting coverage and strengthening access to reliable care.
This week, I had the opportunity to speak with the Caterpillar team about the importance of a strong surface transportation reauthorization bill so we can continue to support our local infrastructure and good paying union jobs for folks in Central Illinois.
This week, I met with some of our officials from Southern and Central Illinois to discuss infrastructure funding and how we can work to continue to make sure rural communities have the support they need.
It was great meeting my dear friend from Chatham Dave Kimsey and the team from the American Hotel and Lodging Association to discuss how we can work together to encourage more people from Illinois and around the country to visit our district and enjoy all our communities have to offer.
Democracy only works when everyone’s voice is heard. Every community deserves fair representation – not maps drawn to silence voters. Democrats will continue fighting for fair and free elections.
I was honored to accept the Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America (IAVA) Leadership in Government Award. I spoke about the work I’m doing to protect benefits and care at the VA, uplift the stories of our women vets, and ensure veterans remain at the center of every decision made at the VA.
During Police Week, Congress is coming together to thank our law enforcement officers for their dedication and sacrifice. This year, three officers who served in the Venice Police Department during the 1920s and 1930s were added to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial.
Year round E15 is the solution! I was proud co-lead the effort to get H.R. 1346 get across the finish line to ensure new markets for our growers and lower prices for consumers.
Happy AANHPI Heritage Month! We celebrate the generations of Asian Americans, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander Americans who have shared their culture and traditions with us.
