ICYMI: I voted to pass the 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act — a bipartisan bill to bring real relief to working families on rent and make homeownership a reality – not a dream.
Today, I join every American in honoring the brave men and women who selflessly answered the call of duty and made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country. They will never be forgotten.
The PREDICT Act is simple: if you help make the laws, you shouldn't be allowed to bet on them. Proud to lead this bipartisan bill to restore fairness and bar insider trading. #PREDICTAct
Attention IL-13! I’m hosting a townhall on May 29th in Champaign where I’ll be talking about the work I’m doing in Congress for working families across IL-13. You won’t want to miss it! I can’t wait to see you there!
Supporting year-round E15 means supporting lower fuel cost, rural jobs, and American-grown energy. I’m once again calling on the Senate to do what’s right for working families and for our economy.
From March 2025 to February 2026, U.S. exporters lost $14.9 billion in sales to China due to retaliation from President Trump’s tariffs. Soybeans alone account for nearly half of that. Our farmers deserve a trade policy that doesn't leave them hanging.

We had a chance to build the first Smithsonian American Women’s History Museum – to celebrate women and the contributions they’ve made to our nation. Now, Trump and Congressional Republicans are getting in the way. Here’s how:

The shooting at the Islamic Center in San Diego is an absolute tragedy. My heart is with the victims, their families, and the entire community affected by this senseless act of violence. Hate has no place in this country -- not now, not ever.
Housing costs are crushing working families. Nobody working full-time should be one bad month away from losing their housing. That is not acceptable – and my colleagues and I New Democrat Coalition are fighting to change it.
61 years ago, Head Start was created with a belief that every child deserves a fair shot – no matter their zip code or family’s income. Since then, it has delivered early learning, nutrition and family support to millions of working families. #StandForHeadStart
Rural communities deserve the same opportunities as anywhere else in this country. That means expanding reliable internet access, accessible healthcare, and lowering the cost of living. My colleagues and I at @newdems.bsky.social have a plan to accomplish it.
ICYMI: This week, the House passed a bill I co-led to allow for the sale of E15 year-round. This is promising news for our farmers and for folks facing skyrocketing prices at the pump. I’m calling on the Senate to pass this bill and put people before politics.
Thank you to our Spring 2026 intern class! This group of public servants came to our office ready to serve – and they have delivered every single day. I am so proud of them and know they will be strong leaders in their communities.
As Vice Chair for Policy of the @newdems.bsky.social, I believe that no family should have to choose between getting care and paying their bills. That means protecting coverage and strengthening access to reliable care.
