I am standing in full solidarity with the thousands of NC teachers marching for fair pay and proper school funding.
Wake County faces $16M in cuts this year
Today, our educators are putting everything on the line to ensure every student gets the resources they deserve.
I’m proud to cosponsor @repgreglandsman.bsky.social’s Ban AI Denials in Medicare Act to prohibit implementation of AI models in Medicare if they may influence prior authorization.
Our country is already facing enough issues with insurance companies rejecting prior authorizations.
With the rise of AI, it is critical that Congress ensures that this technology is not being used to approve or deny authorizations without a human in the loop.
As we move forward, I continue to explore all routes to regulate AI and ensure the harmful effects of this technology are not felt by our communities.

I understand that some people have concerns that this legislation may be too broad or aggressive—but lives are at stake. I would much rather support AI regulations that are too strict and subsequently adjust, than the current lack of regulations that are putting our communities at risk.
This bill would ban AI companion chatbots for minors and establish criminal penalties for companies that allow minors to access AI companions that produce sexual content.
We are grateful for the endorsement from the American Association for Justice and Young People's Alliance on this legislation.
People under the age of 18 should not be able to interact with AI companion chatbots outside of strictly educational circumstances. It continues to put lives and the mental health of our youth at risk.
I am introducing the House version of Senator Hawley’s GUARD Act alongside Rep. Blake Moore.
I voted against the Republican budget resolution that pushes another $70 billion to ICE while doing absolutely nothing to address the real pain points our communities are facing.

Rest assured, I am continuing to explore legislation alongside my colleagues to regulate data centers and their harmful impacts on our communities.
We cannot stay silent as data centers continue to raise utility costs and put the environment at risk.
While data centers are being built across the country, the very minimum Congress can do is provide federal protections for comment periods.
I’m proud to co-lead this bill to ensure our communities are heard before data center construction is approved.
Trump’s Supreme Court has finally done what they were hand-picked to do: gut the Voting Rights Act in a disgusting attack on underrepresented voters across the country.

I’m headed to the floor now to vote against another Republican FISA bill that allows for the surveillance of Americans without a warrant.
I refuse to support legislation that does not respect our fundamental rights, and I implore my colleagues to vote against this bill.
We have all the seen videos of ICE’s repeated abuses of power. I will not be gaslit by the Republican majority into voting to give another $70 billion to this agency.
This agency needs to be dismantled, and its previously approved funding needs to be clawed back.
We are expecting the House to vote on another War Powers Resolution, this time introduced by Rep. Gottheimer.
I want to be clear that I will vote in favor of this legislation and will continue to support all efforts to reign in Trump’s actions abroad that are putting so many lives at risk.
I am very glad to see the growing support for @ramirez.house.gov's Melt ICE Act!
Ending immigrant detention and monitoring while redirecting funding to our communities would deal a critical blow to ICE while putting our communities first—I'm proud to be a cosponsor.
It was a pleasure to speak at the General Federation of Women's Clubs Convention this weekend!
GFWC-NC has been fighting for over a century to uplift the voices of women across our state through service, and I’ll always support their mission in the halls of Congress.

Israeli strikes on Lebanon killed at least 14 people, pushing an already shaky ceasefire close to collapse.
The UN said that more than 1 million people have been displaced — almost a fifth of the country’s population — with 200,000 fleeing into neighboring Syria.

This war that is claiming the lives of innocent civilians must end and I continue to call on my colleagues to join me in supporting Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib's War Powers Resolution to prevent U.S. involvement in Israel’s hostilities in Lebanon.
Reports indicate that 14 people were killed in strikes in Lebanon yesterday, including women and children.
