As with previous Iran War Powers Resolutions, I am cosponsoring @jayapal.house.gov's resolution to stop Trump’s war in Iran.
As we continue to see the human impacts of this war across the region, the importance of stopping Trump’s offensive is more important than ever.

This bill is endorsed by the American Society for Collective Rights Licensing, the Society of Composers and Lyricists, @authorsguild.org, and more.
Congress needs to regulate all sectors of AI, including generative AI, and this bill is an important step in that direction.
Generative AI can be incredibly dangerous. It enables the spread of deepfakes and vast misinformation across our country.
@beyer.house.gov, Rep. James Moylan and I introduced the bipartisan Protecting Consumers from Deceptive AI Act to mandate clear labeling of AI-generated content.
I am wishing a speedy recovery to the Secret Service agent who was injured at the White House Correspondents' Dinner this weekend, and am relieved that the attendees are safe.
Political violence in all forms has no place in our society.
Too many people seeking Social Security disability benefits are forced to wait months for responses when advancing through the reconsideration and appeals processes.
I’m introducing the RECON Act to eliminate red tape by allowing claimants to proceed directly to a hearing after an initial decision.
More than ever, Congress has a responsibility to keep our servicemembers out of harm's way and properly support them with the hard-earned benefits they deserve when they come home.
April 24th is Wounded Heroes Day! Today we honor the continued courage, sacrifice, and resilience of U.S. military veterans and their families.

Republicans released their new FISA bill today. This bill does nothing to address any of the privacy concerns I raised.
No reforms, no warrants. I urge my colleagues to vote no.
It was great meeting with International Union of Elevator Constructors Local 80 and Local 135 this week!
IUEC represents about 30,000 workers across the nation, and I’m proud to work with our local chapters to support the right to unionize and push legislation that puts hardworking Americans first.
Congress cannot allow this technology to be used to further wars or enable the deprivation of human rights.
In decisions of life and death, it is critical that humans remain in the loop and maintain meaningful control over weapons systems.
I have deep concerns about the establishment of the “Autonomous Warfare Command” center, with little clarity about the involvement of humans in day-to-day operations.

Trump’s war on Iran is putting the lives of servicemembers and civilians abroad at risk—AND it’s raising costs here in North Carolina.
Congress needs to pass a War Powers Resolution immediately and put an end to this senseless war.
Campaign spending has risen into the billions—this money would be much better spent supporting our communities. Congress needs to prioritize campaign finance legislation immediately that returns the power of the vote to the people.
I am cosponsoring @repsummerlee.bsky.social’s legislation to abolish Super PACs, and @ramirez.house.gov’s legislation to enact strict limits on PAC-candidate coordination.
As a former member of the Chapel Hill-Carrboro Schools Board, I have seen firsthand the impact educators can have on children in our district.
I will continue to fight for proper funding in Congress to support these educators who help push our country forward.
Congratulations to Jason Johnson, the principal of Orange High School, for taking home the 2026 National Principal of the Year award!
Thank you for your dedication to uplifting public school students in our district and shaping our future generations for the better.

I’m glad that local leaders are taking this issue seriously, and I will continue to push for legislation to enact proper reporting requirements and regulations surrounding data centers to keep our communities safe.
I strongly support Orange County’s decision to implement a one-year moratorium on data centers.
Data centers hurt the environment, raise energy costs, and often tap into local grids without properly compensating local communities.
