Dominguez passed away in 2019 at the age of just 23 after alleged medical negligence by her doctor—it’s critical that her story is heard in the halls of Congress as we push to deliver legislation that properly addresses maternal health disparities.
If you’ve stopped by my D.C. office recently, you’ll notice the portrait of Demi Dominguez outside my office in honor of Black Maternal Health Week.
Yesterday, I joined my colleagues to highlight Black Maternal Health Week and the gaps in our healthcare system that continue to leave Black moms behind.
While this Administration continues to attack healthcare access, we will stand strong and fight to ensure proper care for our communities.
I am a hard NO on FISA reauthorization.

🚨FISA VOTE TONIGHT! 🚨 While you are sleeping, Republicans plan to jam a bill through the House tonight allowing the Admin to spy and collect data for the next FIVE YEARS.
No warrants REQUIRED. No real assurances a shady AG, FBI, or DNI director will follow the law. I am a NO!
This bill is an important step to ensure that Congress is legislating prediction markets proactively and properly taking steps to protect our communities.
I look forward to continuing to fight for proper regulations surrounding these markets.
Prediction markets are ripe for fraud and insider trading.
I’m proud to cosponsor @repcasar.bsky.social and @chrismurphyct.bsky.social’s BETS OFF Act to ban prediction market trading on terrorism, deaths, war, non-financial government actions, and more.
Trump's $1.5 trillion defense budget demand is part of the same lie we have heard our whole lives: our government has money for war, but no money for social services.
I'm fighting for legislation to stop these endless wars and put money back into our communities.
Section 702 still allows for violations of the Fourth Amendment against Americans—it’s a gross overreach of power and Congress cannot continue to permit surveillance of Americans without a warrant.
I want to be clear that I will not vote for FISA reauthorization if the bill remains in its current form.
Today, I proudly voted again in favor of a War Powers Resolution to stop Trump’s military action against Iran.
Until this bill is passed by Congress, I will continue to fight for its passage in order to protect servicemembers and innocent lives abroad.
I was very proud to secure over $2 million for drinking water infrastructure and PFAS treatment in Orange County through the Community Project Funding process, and I look forward to continuing our work together to deliver for the community.
It was great to meet with Orange Water & Sewer Authority as we continue to work to bring federal funding to Orange County to address the needs of local residents.
As we continue to study the negative effects of data centers and crypto mining operations, I strongly support local communities’ efforts to halt the construction of these facilities and prioritize concerns about water and energy use.
This is great news. I’m glad that local leaders and Apex residents worked together to enact restrictions that the community sees fit.

Trump has continued to demonstrate that he is not fit for office, and it’s imperative that this independent commission is established and convenes immediately to assess the mental fitness of the President.
I’m proud to be a cosponsor of @raskin.house.gov's bill to establish the commission required to invoke the 25th Amendment.

I’m cosponsoring @velazquez.house.gov's War Powers Resolution to reestablish constitutional authority and stop yet another disastrous war initiated by Trump.
Trump’s ongoing military blockade is another page in America’s disastrous attempts to instigate regime change in Cuba. This Administration’s actions abroad are completely out of control and put innocent civilians at risk.
Communities of color, immigrant communities, activists, and political dissenters bear the brunt of surveillance abuses—Congress cannot allow this continued violation of the rights afforded to every American under the Constitution.
