We can't talk about transportation and infrastructure in PA-06 without talking about @septaphilly.bsky.social. With over 800,000 daily trips, SEPTA is the backbone of public transit in southeastern Pennsylvania and is the 6th-largest transit system in the U.S.
We don't know why a sergeant turned his personal weapon on five fellow soldiers, but as the Army's Brig. Gen. John Lubas said, "we are wrapping our arms around them and their families" and hoping for a speedy recovery. Thanks to Army and local law enforcement for their quick response.
Gerrymandering is not required nor is it neutral. It's designed to manipulate district boundaries to disadvantage a political party or group. This means the politicians are picking their preferred voters and not the other way around.
FYI: Redistricting is a process that is required to happen every ten years in America. At the close of the US Census, congressional districts are adjusted to account for population changes from the previous decade, so that each district has a roughly equal population of 765,000 people.
#OTD 60 years ago, President Lyndon B. Johnson signed the Voting Rights Act of 1965, securing the right to vote for all U.S. citizens. The right to vote is a fundamental part of being an American and we must work to protect it for all citizens as we fight to protect our democracy as well.
Texas Democrats have taken a principled stand to defend democracy both in Texas and across this country. Attempting to unseat them or sic the FBI on these legislators is indefensible. Gerrymandering isn’t the way to win elections. Doing what’s right for Americans is.
I enjoyed discussing Landscapes3, Chester County's comprehensive plan guiding responsible growth while preserving our county’s natural, cultural and economic assts. I am glad we get to work together to make sure Chester County remains a vibrant, sustainable place to live and work!
This week, we are focusing on transportation and infrastructure throughout PA-06. I had the opportunity to meet with the Chester County Planning Commission in my office in West Chester. The CCPC plays a vital role in shaping the county’s development through thoughtful, community-centered planning.
This month, I am traveling throughout PA-06 hearing directly from you about what matters and taking your concerns with me back to Washington. I am talking with families, business owners, teachers, students, working people, retirees and beyond about what makes our community strong.
Happy 235th birthday to @uscg.bsky.social! From conducting search and rescue missions to enforcing maritime safety, environmental protection and national security, we thank you for your service!
The Trump Administration just eliminated abortion care at the VA without exceptions for rape, incest, or the life of the mother. Veterans' lives are at stake. Those who served this nation should have the best, most comprehensive health care -- including full reproductive care.
Abortion services had been offered at VA facilities since late 2022, even in some states where the procedures were outlawed. Now that will end.
