I will not be attending the State of the Union tonight. I know, my constituents know, the people of Minneapolis know and Americans across the country know that the state of our union is not good. The state of our union is unaffordable, unaccountable and unjust.

By striking down Trump's tariffs, SCOTUS has finally found some backbone. Kavanaugh's dissent warns the decision will cause a "mess." Too bad he doesn't see that this Court's pro-Trump rulings already made a huge "mess." We must clean house in November so the cleanup can begin.
While families across this country are struggling with rising costs and fearing for their safety within our borders, the last thing Americans need is another reckless war.
My position has not changed: No War in Iran
Ramadan Mubarak to everyone observing in Georgia's Fourth District and beyond.
May this holy month bring peace, strength, and abundant blessings to you and your loved ones.
Happy Lunar New Year!
Wishing everyone celebrating across Georgia’s Fourth District and around the world prosperity, joy, and good fortune as we welcome the Year of the Horse.
Rev. Jesse Jackson dedicated his life to the struggle for civil and voting rights for Black Americans, and human rights for all people. His passing leaves a void in my soul, and I will miss his example of enduring service for the betterment of society. RIP Rev. Jackson.
Last week, students at Arabia Mountain High School called my office demanding I stand up against ICE and protect civil rights. Today, I met with those students and assured them I will and to show them that their voices can create positive change.
Kristi Noem needs to go. If she doesn’t leave voluntarily, we will impeach her.
100 years ago, Dr. Carter G. Woodson established Negro History Week to recognize the contributions that Black people have made to American life and culture. Black people built this country and today and every day, we commit to telling the full story of the American journey.
Congress needs to overwhelmingly pass my Bivens Act. If Republican Senators can receive $500k because their electronic records were legally obtained, then you should be able to sue Kristi Noem for violating your civil rights.
This needs to stop. These goons need to be charged with murder, ICE must be abolished, & every single official involved should be held accountable. My heart goes out to Alex Pretti’s family and friends.
GA-04 stands in solidarity with the thousands of brave Minnesotans who are putting their lives on the line at today’s historic general strike. United, we can fight back against hate and tyranny. #AbolishICE
To sum up this week: Trump should be charged again for the Jan. 6th insurrection and stealing classified documents. He also needs to be charged for crimes he's currently committing. Lastly, ICE should be abolished.
CVS has gone unchecked for too long, monopolizing the CVS Pharmacy chain, CVS Caremark (a PBM), & Aetna Health Insurance. The result: Americans getting ripped off with high prescription prices. Trump's attention is on Greenland while MAGAs in DC fail to address our broken healthcare system.

Q: Did you uncover evidence to prove Trump knew his claim the election was stolen was false?
SMITH: Yes
Q: And Trump claimed it was stolen while he privately acknowledged he lost?
SMITH: Yes
Q: Yet on the 5th anniversary of J6, Trump still promoted the stolen election theory on a govt webpage
I voted no to continue funding this administration’s ruthless ICE raids. It’s time to defund and dismantle ICE.
He said he was going to lower prices on day 1. It is day 365, and this year, Georgia families paid $1,178 more due to Trump's inflation.
Today we celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. We honor the dream of Dr. King by carrying on his fight for justice and equality. Today, our nation must recommit to ensuring that the arc of the moral universe bends toward justice.
I’m a member of the progressive caucus.
I want to wish my mother and the women of Delta Sigma Theta a Happy Founders Day. Congratulations on 113 years of sisterhood.
