Trump’s tariffs are about to make your Amazon cart even more expensive.
Thought the tariff drama was over? Think again.
Trump’s latest tariff scheme – his blanket 10% tariffs on all countries plus the 145% tariffs on China – will actually cost YOU more than his other tariff plan from last week.🤦♀️
San Diego and New York City were tied for the highest inflation rate in the country in March. You know what doesn’t help that? On again, off again tariffs and zero action on reducing the costs of child care and housing.
Take it from me: we need to tax rich people MORE. Elon Musk and Donald Trump are stealing from YOU to give themselves bigger tax cuts. But we are fighting back!
San Diego is already in a child care crisis and Trump’s cuts to Head Start have made it worse – closing five regional Head Start offices and counting.
The most important thing to know about DOGE: they’re stealing from the American people to fund tax cuts for the rich. That’s why I introduced the Delete DOGE Act to stop them.
DOGE is struggling to find *any* fraud in Social Security – but they’re still going to delay your benefits.
Instead of more war toys, let’s have universal child care.
Hearing from YOU is an important part of my job. That’s why I’m hosting a town hall in El Cajon on April 22nd. I hope you’ll register and join me!

House Republicans want the rich to get even richer. They just advanced a budget that takes away YOUR health care and ability to put food on the table.
Today, House Republicans are putting the SAVE Act on the Floor, which will suppress the vote of millions of Americans and do nothing to secure our elections. I will be voting NO.
They’re not just going after criminals. They’re taking away legal ways to enter the U.S. and kicking out people who entered “the right way.” Let’s call it what it is: this is about kicking out all immigrants who aren’t white.
Will he or won’t he? #WhiteLotus #TheWhiteLotus
The on again off again tariffs don’t win us any favors with our partners and allies – or our adversaries. It shows that the U.S. isn’t true to our word – so why bother negotiating with us or investing in America?
I had so much fun this weekend at the Egg Hunt in San Carlos! Thanks to the San Diego Parks and Rec Department for hosting this great event for our community. Happy Spring! 🐰🐣🌸
Fetal personhood laws that give embryos equal rights as a person are dangerous for women. They can be used to arrest someone for having an abortion, a stillbirth, or a miscarriage – like what happened to Selena in Georgia. We can't let fetal personhood become federal law.
Final proxy voting update: Republicans killed our bill. We will keep fighting for new parents in Congress and across this country. EVERYONE deserves parental leave.
UPDATE: Speaker Johnson's "deal" isn't good enough, so @pettersen.house.gov and I are motioning to discharge our proxy voting resolution to the floor TODAY. New parents should be allowed to vote. Stay tuned.
I’m heartbroken and outraged to see UCSD and SDSU students become pawns in Trump’s immigration games. These young people have so much to offer our universities and communities and deserve to continue their education. We will continue to fight this.
Just so we’re all clear:
The economy is spiraling under Trump’s new tariffs, essential programs like Medicare/Medicaid are under attack, and yet all Republicans want is to pass more tax breaks for billionaires…
Got it.
