After threatening war crimes against the Iranian people, the President of the United States now threatens “a whole civilization” with death.
Speaker Johnson must call the House back to end Trump’s war of choice and take back the reins from an Administration with no strategy beyond more bloodshed.
Happy Easter!
Since its founding through the North Atlantic Treaty 77 years ago today, NATO has been a lynchpin to security and maintaining stability across Europe and North America.
Since his return to office, President Trump has threatened to abandon NATO and put decades of diplomatic progress at risk.
One year ago, Trump announced his “Liberation Day” tariffs, throwing our economy into chaos with sweeping taxes on everything from technology to toys, groceries and more.
Since then, I’ve heard stories across Virginia about the uncertainty Trump’s illegal tariffs have caused.
Jeannette Rankin took her oath of office to serve as the first Congresswoman of the United States 109 years ago today.
Her courage as a historymaker has paved the way for me and so many other women of Congress to fight for a future that allows our daughters and their daughters to dream bigger.
Republicans pushed through nearly $200 billion to fund ICE and Border Patrol in the Big Ugly Law. Yet their dysfunction has kept TSA, FEMA, Coast Guard and cybersecurity professionals unpaid.
Speaker Johnson should call the House back to approve DHS funding we should have approved last week.
Chag Pesach Sameach! Wishing all who celebrate a warm and reflective Passover spent with family and loved ones.
Congratulations, Artemis II on a successful launch!
President Trump once again seeks to reshape election law by executive fiat in order to suppress votes.
Federal courts have rejected these unconstitutional efforts. This latest threat to democracy must fall as well.

A special #WomensHistoryMonth episode of Moments with McClellan drops today with @abigailspanberger.com, the first woman to lead Virginia, my friend and former colleague from the House!
Tune in to hear about Governor Spanberger’s favorite part of our Commonwealth, favorite superhero and more.
I took my oath of office with my hand on my father’s Bible. Inside, he kept his poll tax receipt.
Now, I’m fighting to stop a modern-day poll tax. Read my column in @democracydocket.com about how the SAVE America Act will disenfranchise millions of Americans and roll back progress on voting rights.
On this #TransDayofVisibility, we uplift and celebrate the transgender and non-binary community!
The safety and fundamental civil rights of our trans neighbors are under attack. Today and every day, we must defend their freedoms and right to exist in peace.
Stay tuned for my conversation with @abigailspanberger.com on the next Moments with McClellan, where we discuss what it’s like to be a historymaker. #WomensHistoryMonth
For #WHM, I am excited to welcome as my guest on Moments with McClellan someone who needs no introduction: Her Excellency Abigail Spanberger, the first woman governor of Virginia!
Stay tuned for our conversation on @abigailspanberger.com’s takes on being a historymaker!
Yet another week passed with no funding for TSA, FEMA and the Coast Guard as House Republicans rejected a unanimous Senate bill to end the DHS shutdown.
Keep watching for more of what you may have missed last week.
Reposted byRep. Jennifer McClellan
House Republicans are skipping town after singlehandedly extending the DHS shutdown.
Full New Dem Leadership Statement:
I offer my thanks to our TSA, FEMA and Coast Guard, who have endured unnecessary hardship amidst rising prices. They should not have to pay the price for House Republicans’ disregard for their livelihoods.
I’ll continue pushing for reforms that protect public safety and enforce the rule of law.
Over the last year, we have watched ICE and CBP agents operate with impunity, entering homes without judicial warrants and using deadly force. We must implement accountability measures that keep these agencies in check.
Instead, House Republicans rejected the Senate’s bipartisan deal and advanced a partisan bill funding DHS for 60 days with no ICE and CBP reforms, knowing full well that package is dead on arrival in the Senate.
