On Yom HaShoah, we honor the memory of the millions of innocent Jewish people murdered during the Nazi regime. Today and every day, we must stand unequivocally against antisemitism in all forms to ensure that Never Again is more than just a phrase, but a promise we make to our Jewish neighbors.
After 12 deeply impactful years with ChristianaCare, I am proud to congratulate Dr. Janice Nevin on a well deserved retirement. Thank you for your leadership and years of dedication to caring for our neighbors, Dr. Nevin!
2/ While touring their facility, we discussed how Congress can support medical technology innovations, like the ones happening in the First State.
1/ Delaware’s health care technology industry brings manufacturing and innovation to our state, providing resources for life saving care. I was happy to meet with leadership at Zimmer Biomet, a leading diagnostics facility in Claymont.
It was great to speak with members of the Southern Delaware Alliance for Racial Justice about their efforts to increase civic engagement and protect voting rights for our neighbors. Participating in our democracy is critical to ensuring our future & I am deeply grateful for the work they are doing.
Financial literacy skills are essential in preparing our students for their future. It was wonderful to see the work the Junior Achievement of Delaware’s Experiential Learning Center is doing to invest in our young citizens and their future.
Our beaches are not just vital drivers of tourism in Sussex County, they provide vital protections for my neighbors that call eastern Sussex home. The Indian River Inlet Sand Bypass System is a critical piece of that work—protecting and strengthening a cherished natural resource of our state.
I had the pleasure of hosting, alongside my colleagues Senator Coons and Senator Blunt Rochester, impressive young Delawareans and their families at our Service Academy Night in Dover. It was an honor to meet these bright students who are exploring a path of service to our country!
1/ A lot has happened this week and this is a serious and deeply consequential moment. It’s not one to celebrate or minimize. It’s one that demands clarity, accountability, and a clear path forward. Read my thoughts in a special edition of my weekly newsletter, the McBride Memo. ⬇️
Happy National Public Health Week! From rural providers in Sussex County, to nonprofits in Kent County, to major hospital systems and federally qualified health centers in New Castle County—our public health providers are foundational to the care infrastructure here in Delaware.
Anyone who knows me knows I love giving tours—so welcome to a new series called Tour Guide McBride!
Stop one: the $600,000 I secured for the Indian River Inlet Sand Bypass Plant. This plant is essential infrastructure that ensures the resilience of our coastline in eastern Sussex County. ⬇️
3/ My colleagues and I refuse to sit on our hands in the face of the chaos this president is threatening and perpetrating.
2/ We are spending a billion dollars a day on this war and risking the lives of our servicemembers while our neighbors are less safe and prices skyrocket.
1/ House Democrats just attempted to bring a War Powers resolution before the House to force an end to the war of choice in Iran by this President. But Republicans in Congress wouldn't even hear the measure.
2/ Republicans in Congress have the power to stop this war—and they’re choosing to stay silent and do nothing.
1/ An update on the war in Iran. It’s a longer video, but here’s the bottom line: we are not safer. We are not more respected. We are poorer. U.S. servicemembers have died. And our adversaries are stronger.
In a political career defined by grotesque statements, this president’s horrifying, illegal, and genocidal threat this morning is among the most dangerous and appalling.
Happy Easter to all who are celebrating today in Delaware and across the globe! From my family to yours; may your day be full of blessings and togetherness.
Wishing a happy birthday to Delaware’s Attorney General Kathy Jennings! I’m proud to be working alongside you to stand up for our neighbors’ fundamental freedoms and hold the Trump administration accountable.
