I spent 37 years of my life as a small business owner. I had a great conversation with Richard Trent, Executive Director of Main Street Alliance, a group of 30,000 small business owners who’ve organized to reclaim economic and political power for small businesses across the country.
As Chair of the Congressional HIV/AIDS Caucus, I will continue to fight for PEPFAR funding without interruptions.
The President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) has saved 26 million lives worldwide over the last two decades. Trump’s abrupt pause & restarting of the program has put millions of lives at risk unnecessarily.
Unfortunately, Republicans rejected this amendment.
Donald Trump is currently suing the government HE runs for $10 billion.
I offered a commonsense amendment in @democrats-appropriations.house.gov to ban him and future presidents from suing and settling with the government they run to avoid any president from taking advantage of their office.
DACA recipients can go to school here, serve in our military, and work in our hospitals, but for some reason, they're not allowed to be federal employees. It makes no sense!
@aguilar.house.gov offered an amendment to change that but again, Republicans rejected this commonsense change.
My Republican colleagues voted against it, surrendering their constitutional duty to their cult leader.
Project 2025 lead author and Trump’s current budget head, Russ Vought, is STEALING Congressionally-approved funds.
Today, I offered an amendment to withhold funds from his office until he testifies before @democrats-appropriations.house.gov and answers our questions.
Happy Earth Day, a celebration with Wisconsin roots!
Syrian billionaires are trying to lift American sanctions by building a “Trump-branded resort” in their country.
It's outrageous that the way to getting what you want from Trump is just flattery. Imagine if this happened under Biden or Obama. And nope, this isn't The Onion.
Political violence, including threats, against anyone is wrong. Full stop. The threats against @repyassansari.bsky.social, her family, and her staff are abhorrent. She is doing the job her constituents elected her to do and must be allowed to continue that work without fear of violence.
WI should start working with Ridglan Farms, a troubled WI breeder of beagles for research, to rehome 2,000 dogs now to give the dogs the lives they deserve. The breeder needs a plan to protect the dogs from inhumane treatment after a settlement agreement to close their breeding business.
Great to see my union brothers and sisters at IUPAT. I’ve been a member for over three decades and am proud to call you my friends.
Dan Bice was relentless, but always fair. He kept Wisconsin politicians honest by holding their feet to the fire. He embodied the definition of a journalist.
He will be missed. My thoughts are with his family and friends right now.

Read the Co-Chairs' statement on the resignation of Department of Labor Secretary Lori Chavez-DeRemer.
Trump and Republicans in Congress promised to make America more affordable. They failed. Time for change.
FACT: The average family is paying more than $2,500 extra this year because of the Trump Tariffs.
FACT: The average household is expected to spend $740 extra on gas this year because of Trump’s war of choice against Iran.
FACT: The average family paid over $300 more for groceries in 2025 than 2024.
My heart breaks for the eight children killed in the horrific shooting in Louisiana yesterday.
Speaker Johnson, this happened in your own hometown. You have the power to stop future shootings by working with us to pass commonsense gun safety legislation.
