Donald Trump's war of choice did this. End the war in Iran!
www.nbcnews.com/business/ene...
Unfortunately, Republicans rejected this amendment, proving they would rather stick their heads in the sand than acknowledge this unnecessary and tragic loss of life because of Trump's cruel policies.
At yesterday's Appropriations Committee markup, I offered an amendment that would direct the government to publish a study on how many deaths the shuttering of USAID has caused and could cause over the next five years if these cuts to lifesaving assistance continue.
Studies show that Trump's dismantling of USAID may have already caused upwards of 1 million preventable deaths worldwide, and could cause up to 14 million more by 2030.
Today, I spoke in support of @quigley.house.gov's amendment in the Appropriations Committee to provide urgently needed funding to help rebuild Gaza and give Gazans the help they desperately need.
Today is Workers’ Memorial Day. We recognize the thousands of Americans who lose their lives on the job every year.
From OSHA to Workers’ Compensation, the labor movement has led many great victories.
But we still have more to do. No one should EVER lose their life simply trying to earn a living.
US gas prices continue to rise. Today, they reached the highest level since the beginning of the War in Iran. But I guess that’s good news, according to Trump?
If every other developed nation in the world can make universal healthcare work, maybe it's not the system that's complex, but our refusal to challenge big pharma and insurance giants.
Colombia, Singapore, Sweden, Indonesia, Norway, Pakistan, Denmark, Romania, Belgium, Greece, Iran, and Kuwait combined.
More than China, Russia, Germany, India, United Kingdom, Saudi Arabia, Ukraine, France, Japan, South Korea, Israel, Poland, Italy, Australia, Canada, Turkey, Spain, Netherlands, Algeria, Brazil, Mexico, Taiwan,
If approved, Trump’s proposed war budget would be the most egregious waste of taxpayer dollars I have ever seen.
A war budget that costs more than the next 35 countries combined. That’s right.
This could have all been prevented.

The truth is there is no good reason (other than the fact that Intuit and H&R Block spent more than $85 million on lobbying in the last 10 years.)
I asked my Republican colleagues to explain why they want to ban the IRS from providing an online tool that ALREADY EXISTS to allow people to file their taxes for free.
*Silence*
Every Republican voted against @gluesenkampperez.house.gov's amendment to allow the IRS to offer Direct File.
Everyone should be talking about this.
While we never seem to have enough money for Americans here at home, Trump proposed a war budget that’s higher than the next 35 countries combined.
You read that right: 35 countries, including our allies.
I spent 37 years of my life as a small business owner. I had a great conversation with Richard Trent, Executive Director of Main Street Alliance, a group of 30,000 small business owners who’ve organized to reclaim economic and political power for small businesses across the country.
As Chair of the Congressional HIV/AIDS Caucus, I will continue to fight for PEPFAR funding without interruptions.
The President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) has saved 26 million lives worldwide over the last two decades. Trump’s abrupt pause & restarting of the program has put millions of lives at risk unnecessarily.
