Really appreciated the opportunity to host another great town hall last night—this time in Northbrook—where hundreds of community members joined us for a thoughtful conversation about these unprecedented times in Washington. Thank you to everyone who attended in person or tuned in via livestream.

For 600 days, 58 hostages have been held in Gaza, including 4 Americans. It's long past time for Hamas to release the hostages and end the war, allowing for recovery and renewal to begin in Gaza.
Swimming to the top! Congratulations to Stevenson’s girls swimming team on capturing their third straight State Water Polo Championship—what an incredible achievement!
Charlie Rangel was an American patriot, Korean War veteran and the first Black chair of the powerful Ways and Means committee. I always enjoyed hearing him regale Members of the committee with tales of bipartisan work to pass major legislation under his leadership. May his memory be a blessing.
This Memorial Day, we remember and honor the brave servicemembers who gave their lives serving and protecting our country. We'll forever hold their memories close to our hearts.
Yaron Lischinsky and Sarah Milgrim should be with us today.
They’re not because of hate.
We must honor Yaron and Sarah’s memory, and ensure it is a blessing.
We will not back down in the fight against antisemitism. We belong here.
This morning, I voted NO on the GOP tax scam.
NO to taking healthcare away from 14 million people.
NO to taking food assistance away from millions of families.
NO to raising costs across the board for the poorest in the country to help Trump’s super rich friends get richer.
It’s 5am and Republicans are trying to jam through their budget scheme before the sun rises. Why are they trying to hide their bill? Because it’s one awful deal for the American people.
It’s horrifying to see what appears to be antisemitic violence right here in the nation’s capital. While authorities complete a full investigation, we must come together and say “Am Yisrael Chai.”
Reports indicate that 2 Israeli embassy staff were murdered & others were possibly wounded tonight outside the Capitol Jewish Museum in DC in what is being investigated as a terror attack. Praying for the victims, their families & the community as we anxiously wait for more information.

Schneider: Many of the areas they represent have the highest need for support from Medicaid, and many families in those districts rely on SNAP.. But what we’re seeing is Republicans in Congress aren’t representing their districts—they’re kowtowing to Trump.

Republicans are openly supporting the wealthiest Americans and turning their backs on hardworking families.
They're supporting Elon Musk over seniors who rely on Medicare.
Just a handful of Republicans could stop this. - @repschneider.bsky.social
"Trump's 'Big, Beautiful Bill' Tanks Markets"
I call that One Awful Deal.
The GOP agenda in a nutshell: stealing health care and food assistance from hardworking American families so they can line the pockets of billionaires like Elon Musk.
No wonder they've been pushing through this budget scheme in the dark of night.

Heartbroken at the loss of our dear friend and colleagues, Rep. Gerry Connolly. My deepest condolences to his family, staff, and loved ones.
May his memory forever be a blessing.
The GOP tax scheme will strip health care from 14 million & make the largest cut to food assistance EVER -- all while saddling our kids with $5 TRILLION in debt.
I talked with @ryanobles on @NBCNewsNow about what's to come w/ the GOP plan this week.

Republicans know their “one big beautiful bill” is really one awful deal for the American people that will take healthcare from 14 million people & add $5 trillion to our nation’s debt.
They are working in the dark of night so you won’t see how bad their bill really is.

House Republicans voted to raise the national debt by $5 trillion. Want to know what that can buy you?

I spoke with @repschneider.bsky.social about how Republicans’ budget bill would rip health coverage from nearly 14 million Americans.
