Three years ago, SCOTUS overturned Roe v Wade. The consequences of this decision have been deadly. We should NEVER accept a reality where women are denied care, criminalized, and unable to make their own health care decisions. We can’t stop fighting for a future with reproductive freedom for all.
The Supreme Court has cleared the way for immigrants to be sent to countries they've never been to, where they could face torture or death, without meaningful notice and due process protections. Like Justice Sotomayor said, the conservative majority is "rewarding lawlessness."
BREAKING: The Supreme Court allows Trump to restart deportation of migrants to countries other than their homelands, for now.
"Low-income children and families would be among the groups hit hardest by Republicans' One Big Beautiful Bill Act. While the bill would be a boon to wealthy Americans, it would scale back resources for the nation's poorest households." Truly shameful stuff.
On June 19, 1865, enslaved people in Galveston, TX learned they were free — over two years after the Emancipation Proclamation. We celebrate Juneteenth to honor the end of slavery and recommit ourselves to the ongoing fight for equality and justice!
There’s NO room for kings in a democracy. Thank you to everyone who came out to the No Kings rally yesterday. Let's keep raising our voices and showing up for our communities. #NoKings
Horrified by the shootings of Minnesota state lawmakers and their spouses last night. Political violence has no place in America. My prayers are with the Hortman and Hoffman families, Minnesota, and our entire country today.
In Congressional Leadership's office demanding accountability for the assault on Senator Alex Padilla. The Senator was forced to the ground and handcuffed for trying to ask DHS Secretary Kristi Noem a question at a public press event. We need answers and Secretary Noem's resignation NOW.
UNACCEPTABLE. @padilla.senate.gov - a sitting U.S. Senator - was just physically assaulted and handcuffed for asking DHS questions about issues that impact his constituents at a PUBLIC PRESS CONFERENCE. This is the stuff of authoritarian regimes.
Senator Padilla is forcibly shoved out of Kristi Noem's press briefing: "I'm Senator Alex Padilla. I have questions for the Secretary"
This is a dangerous escalation. Trump is deliberately stoking chaos and fear. This isn’t about safety, it’s about spectacle, and it puts everyone at risk. The Administration needs to reverse course NOW.
Breaking: More than 700 Marines based out of the Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center in California have been mobilized to respond to the protests in Los Angeles, according to three people familiar with the matter. www.cnn.com/2025/06/09/p...
The Governor and the Mayor have NOT requested support from the National Guard. This is purposefully inflammatory from the President. It’s designed to create chaos and escalate. This should be reversed.
“We tried to talk to the administration and tell them that there was absolutely no need to have troops on the ground here in L.A.,” Mayor Bass told The Times while discussing President Trump’s decision to deploy the National Guard. Read more: www.latimes.com/california/l...
Harvey Milk was a veteran, a dedicated public servant, and a pioneer for LGBTQ+ rights whose courage gave hope to millions. Trying to erase his name during Pride Month is an insult to his legacy. Hegseth should reverse this absolutely shameful decision immediately.
I went to the Senate Floor to bring up my resolution urging the Pentagon not to rename ships in the John Lewis class, named after American civil rights legends like the USNS Harvey Milk. Republicans blocked it. On the first week of Pride Month no less.
Horrific. I stand with @seiuca.bsky.social President David Huerta. He must be released immediately!
Let’s be clear: ICE injured and detained the president of SEIU California for peacefully observing. ICE picked the wrong side. The wrong state. The wrong person. and the wrong union. David Huerta stood up. And now 750,000 SEIU workers are standing up behind him. seiuca.org/press-releas...
