Four years ago, Donald Trump incited an insurrection because he didn't like the results of the election. It wasn't peaceful and it wasn't a day of love. This anniversary is a reminder that our democracy is sacred, and we can't take it for granted.

Today, we mourn the enormous loss of President Jimmy Carter. He leaves behind a legacy of compassion, service, and commitment to peace that will always be remembered. My prayers are with the Carter family.
