On Yom HaShoah we honor the memories of the six million Jewish victims murdered during the Holocaust and the millions of innocent people who were persecuted by the Nazi regime because of who they were or who they loved.

@whipkclark.bsky.social and Max Richtman, President and CEO of the National Committee to Preserve Social Security and Medicare, will join us. The town hall meeting will start at 2:30pm and doors open at 1:30pm. Please do not bring large bags or backpacks to the event.
Today: @salinas.house.gov and I are looking forward to speaking with Oregonians at our seniors town hall meeting this afternoon at the Conestoga Recreation Center Gym.
As an expert witness testified a recent hearing, the Department of Education has been providing critical support and resources to help schools properly implement technology like AI. Losing that support would create hardship for schools across the country.
The use of AI in K-12 education is more complicated than the Education Secretary made it sound.
CTE programs like the coding and health sciences classes I visited are good investments, and it’s why I’ll continue to fight back against Trump’s illegal attempt to defund and dismantle the Department of Education.
The Century HS students I spoke with were engaged and excited about what they were learning in their Career and Technical Education classes. The federal government supplements state funding for CTE through the bipartisan Perkins Career and Technical Education Act.
One of my colleagues on the Education Committee claimed that “not a dollar” of federal funding from the Department of Education reaches schools in his district. That’s flat-out wrong, and there’s ample information that shows exactly how federal dollars help students in every public school.

TOMORROW at 2:30 PM: I’m hosting a town hall for seniors in our community with @repbonamici.bsky.social! Hope to see you there. Details below—no RSVP required!
It was inspiring to speak with Hillsboro student leaders at the HSD Youth Summit. Meeting with students gives me hope for the future, and the students I heard from were engaged and passionate about education and their community.

Every day, @noaa.gov works to protect American lives, livelihoods, and property — Trump’s proposal to slash its budget and shut down its climate research is a massive self-inflicted wound.
On this Earth Day, I’m leading my colleagues to pressure the administration to abandon this dangerous plan.
The first of its kind in the world, this state-of-the-art facility is designed specifically for women’s soccer and basketball teams and will cement the Portland metro region’s status as the global epicenter for women’s sports.
It was a groundbreaking groundbreaking in Hillsboro at the future training site for the @thornsfc.com and Portland’s new WNBA team.
Moving to clean energy slashes pollution, improves reliability of the grid, creates new, good-paying jobs, and helps people save on their energy bills.
It’s #EarthDay, another reminder of the urgent need to address the climate crisis. And it’s also an opportunity to lower energy costs and build a healthier, more equitable world.
Many people left comments on a recent clip I posted where the Education Secretary confused A.I. with “A.1.” I took the time to review some of the highlights.

The event starts at 2:30pm and doors will open an hour before. Please do not bring large bags or backpacks to the event.
I’m excited that @whipkclark.bsky.social and Max Richtman, President and CEO of the National Committee to Preserve Social Security and Medicare will join us as special guest presenters.
Reminder: I’m holding a seniors town hall meeting with @salinas.house.gov this Thursday, April 24, at the Conestoga Recreation Center Gym.
May he rest in peace.
