It was a profound honor to speak at the Memorial Day ceremony at Camp Butler National Cemetery. I am grateful for the opportunity to honor our fallen heroes alongside our community.
Memorial Day is a reminder that freedom isn’t free. Today, I join every American in honoring the brave men and women who selflessly answered the call of duty and made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country. They will never be forgotten.
We can’t let it fly under the radar that the GOP tax package would eliminate funding for Planned Parenthood and block ACA insurance plans from covering abortions. This is going to have a huge impact on women’s access to reproductive care in every single state.
The best way to improve VA services is to hear from veterans, family members, and caregivers firsthand. I’m proud to reintroduce my bill with @repmcgarvey.bsky.social and @juliabrownley.house.gov to codify the office at the VA tasked with putting veterans’ feedback into action.
Earlier this year, House Republicans excluded important #IL13 projects from their funding bill. Now, I'm once again pushing for these dollars that will revitalize our infrastructure, boost our local economy, & improve day-to-day life for families in our district. budzinski.house.gov/posts/budzin...
Last weekend, Illinois was hit by devastating storms. Without warnings from the National Weather Service, the damage would have been even more severe. That’s why @repwesleybellmo.bsky.social and I are calling on President Trump to ensure NWS has the resources it needs to keep our communities safe.
I’m thrilled that my team helped Family Service of Champaign County get back $789,643 they were owed from the IRS! Remember: we’re always here to assist you with navigating the federal government!
Strengthening the biofuels industry is critical for farmers in #IL13 and it’s one of my top priorities in Congress. I’m excited to continue to lead on this issue as a newly appointed co-chair of the bipartisan Biofuels Caucus!
This bill turns its back on working families, meaning while billionaires receive tax breaks, middle class families will instead pay more in annual living expenses. We need middle class tax relief, support for those who need it, and real fiscal responsibility. This bill fails on all counts.
It unfairly harms the bottom 10% of earners while delivering the most benefits to the top 10%. It also cuts billions from Medicaid and SNAP, and adds more than $3 trillion to the national debt.
JUST NOW: I voted NO on the Republican tax package. This bill is nothing more than a massive handout to the wealthiest Americans at the expense of everyone else.
I introduced an amendment to the tax package to restore the Affordable Connectivity Program - a lifeline for 23 million families who struggle with high internet costs. We’ve made progress in closing the digital divide, and it’s time to finish the job.
House Republicans’ tax package is a handout to the wealthiest Americans on the backs of working families. Here are some of the impacts in #IL13: ❌28,000 people lose their health care coverage ❌19,000 more see their premiums skyrocket ❌15,000 families left hungry when they lose SNAP
I spoke on the House floor to honor Venice, IL, Mayor Tyrone Echols, who is retiring after more than 40 years in office. Mayor Echols, thank you for all you have done for our community and congratulations on your retirement!
