Donald Trump is treating the destruction of a democracy as a political show — throwing Ukraine to the wolves and doing a favor for Putin.
It's shameful and dangerous.
I've been to Ukraine, as have many Senate Republicans. I hope they speak up. Millions of lives are at stake.

Donald Trump and Elon Musk are trying to shut down the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau - the agency that helps you if you get scammed.
@senatedem.bsky.social are united in defending the CFPB, which has already returned more than $21 billion to families cheated by Wall Street.
Federal workers are the people doing the hard work to process veterans’ benefits, make sure our airplanes can fly safely, and protect families from the bird flu.
To all of our federal workers: I see you and I’m fighting for you.
@sanders.senate.gov and I have a bill to get that done, so that seniors can retire with the dignity they deserve.

Maybe instead of purging the Social Security workers who make sure seniors get their checks on time, we should be expanding benefits to make life a little easier for your parents and grandparents.
Our service members are among the best and bravest our nation has to offer.
They are patriots who put their lives on the line to keep us safe.
To demean thousands of transgender service members' sacrifice by removing them is cruel and stupid – and makes us all less safe.
During Trump's CFPB Director nomination hearing, it broke that the agency is dropping lawsuits against companies accused of cheating American families out of their money.
This wasn't a coincidence. It shows exactly who is in charge right now: Elon Musk.
Part two:
You've heard of girl math, but have you heard of billionaire math?
Trump's temporary tax handouts for the rich are expiring this year, and Republicans want working Americans to foot the bill.
They're claiming it'll cost you nothing, but in reality, these tax handouts cost trillions.
Donald Trump's tax breaks for billionaires and billionaire corporations are NOT "cost free".
The real cost will be health care cuts for:
- New moms and their babies
- Grandma in the nursing home
- Kids with disabilities
Threatening your health care for billionaire handouts.
The Trump-Musk attack on American consumers in a nutshell:
Company started scamming people with interest rates as high as 1000% → CFPB stepped in to hold it accountable → Trump Administration reversed course, leaving consumers high and dry.
While the bird flu gets worse and egg prices skyrocket, Trump’s team fired employees who were working on the bird flu response.
Now, they’re frantically trying to reverse course.
This is the opposite of efficiency.
Why does National Institutes of Health funding matter? It’s the fuel to find cures for:
- Cancer
- Alzheimer’s
- Cystic Fibrosis
- Pediatric Cancer
- ALS
- MS
- Parkinson’s
Trump tried to cut it, but thanks to AG Campbell, a judge blocked the cuts. This is why we fight.
House Republicans just took the first step towards passing their plans to cut health care and hike the cost of groceries for millions of people.
Why? To pay for tax giveaways for billionaires and billionaire corporations.
Working people won't forget this. We need to fight back.
If you have a credit card, checking account, car loan, Venmo account - Donald Trump and Elon Musk are leaving you vulnerable to scams. But we're fighting back.
Watch live here: youtube.com/live/s8iNPld...
Since the Trump-Musk attack on the CFPB, every day thousands of Americans aren't getting the help they need when they're cheated by big banks or giant corporations and want their money back.
Donald Trump and Elon Musk are allowing Americans to get scammed.
The CFPB has returned over $21 billion directly to Americans scammed by Wall Street.
If you have been personally helped by the CFPB - if you've filed a complaint, got money returned to you, or benefitted from their work, I need to hear from you.
