My Democratic colleagues and I will not stand for inhumane conditions, lack of oversight, and detention without probable cause in billionaire-backed ICE detention centers. It is wrong. It is racist. It is unconstitutional.
More than two dozen Members of Congress showed up to my fifth shadow hearing on the horrific conditions in Trump’s ICE detention centers. Thank you to everyone who spoke up — we will continue to shine a light on this injustice and inhumanity.
It’s official: The Secure Rural Schools Reauthorization Act passed the House. Now, it’s on the way to the President’s desk.   We’re not leaving anyone behind.
Today, I urged my colleagues to support the Secure Rural Schools Reauthorization Act, an essential lifeline for rural communities across my district. It's already passed the Senate - stay tuned for an update as it goes through the House tonight.

We have more in common with our immigrant siblings than we do any billionaire or corporate CEO. Unity and solidarity are the source of our strength, and America’s unions will keep fighting to make sure working people, regardless of status, are protected at work and at home.
Let’s call this what it is: greed. I’ve met with workers all across America — not a single one has said we need more billionaires. A union contract is how we balance the scales and workers get their fair share of the profits they create. https://on.wsj.com/3KzznSL
The attack yesterday in our nation’s capital that left two National Guard members in critical condition is devastating and unacceptable. I am grateful for their service, and my heart goes out to their families and loved ones.
Great news! Thanks to @agdanrayfield.bsky.social for bringing this lawsuit and for everyone in Newport who has been fighting so hard to ensure we keep our coastal communities safe. I will keep pushing for answers until this temporary order is made permanent.
On #TransDayOfRemembrance, America’s unions mourn and honor our friends, family and coworkers whose lives were tragically cut short by hate. We stand against all forms of discrimination and violence everywhere.
The Republican NDAA amendment suggested below that would ban state AI regulation is outrageous. We the People deserve a say in how AI is regulated to address impacts to the workforce, information integrity & preserve states’ rights. This Big Tech backroom deal is government overreach plain & simple.
In the meanwhile, please know that you have a legally protected right to due process and legal counsel regardless of your immigration status. If someone you know is picked up, please get in touch with my office. (2/2)
