We're now less than 12 hours away from a shutdown and House Republicans aren't even in D.C. House Democrats are ALL here, ready to vote on a bill that protects healthcare & reinforces Congress as a separate but EQUAL branch of government. If Republicans are serious: they know where to find us.
First of all, food assistance already isn't getting out the door because you cut SNAP by almost $200 BILLION in your budget.   Also, we wouldn't be in this mess if you didn't cut $1 TRILLION from health care too.   We're trying to fix the problems you created - work with us or stop complaining.
Leavitt: "They want food assistance programs for women and children and impoverished communities to continue going out the door. All of that will come to an end if Democrats vote against this CR that Republicans are proposing."
🚨Level 3 (GO NOW) for Agness area for complex wildfires Any area residents requiring sheltering assistance are asked to call Curry County Emergency Management at 541-247-3275 or the Sheriff’s non-emergency dispatch number 541-247-3242 Read more:
This week, my staff & I were finally able to complete an oversight visit at ICE's Eugene Field Office. Read more about the conditions here & at the statement on my website linked below. My office is here to be a resource & we can help with any ICE related issues or questions.
“In short, this is a processing facility with basic resources including water, a restroom for detainees and air conditioning. Detainees are split into two rooms, male and female.

"Officials told me that, on average, detainees at the Eugene Field Office are there for four hours but up to a maximum of twelve. I was also told that people who are processed through this facility are sent to the Northwest ICE Processing Center in Tacoma, Washington.
“I am adamant that every member of our community knows their rights and knows that everyone in this country is entitled to due process as provided for in our Constitution. If you want more information on your rights, please view the ‘Know Your Rights’ page on our website or contact our office.

“In the coming months, I plan to visit the facility in Tacoma to inspect the facility and the conditions there.”
Trump canceled his meeting with Democrats—guess negotiating is harder than spreading medical misinformation. Meanwhile, families face skyrocketing healthcare costs & losing coverage. Maybe the President should try leading instead of hiding, especially when lives are on the line.
Once again, to my Republican colleagues, if you want Democratic votes for your partisan rush-job of a spending bill, include our priorities. Protect health care & protect Congress as a separate & equal branch of government. Those are my values & that's my price.
Republicans control all of Congress and WH. Since Election Day, all they talk about is their ‘mandate’ and how they don’t need Dems. Now it’s our fault THEY can’t pass THEIR bill? We won’t roll over on the values half the country sent us here to represent. If you want our votes, include our ideas.
A Seattle seafood distributor has recalled more cooked and frozen shrimp sold at Kroger grocery stores across the U.S. because of ongoing concerns about potential radioactive contamination.
The party that spent 4 years crying about cancel culture is now trying to cancel those who call out Charlie Kirk's views. Peacefully disagreeing with people isn't illegal, it's American. By the way, where was this outrage after MN State Rep. Melissa Hortman's murder or for the Sandy Hook families?
We’re told to budget harder, hustle more, and settle for less. Meanwhile, billionaires scoop up mansions and yachts. The system isn’t broken—it’s rigged. This is why we fight.
UPDATE: All but 3 House Republicans voted FOR the bill. They have officially given away our CONSTITUTIONALLY DIRECTED duty to set & weigh in on tariffs through March 2026. House Democrats all voted 'No' to help lower costs, protect small businesses, & defend the Constitution.
🚨 TARIFF UPDATE 🚨 Last night, Republicans snuck a bill into today's docket that would stop Congress from pushing back on Trump's reckless tariffs until March 2026. These tariffs are not strategic - they are hurting small businesses, American manufacturing, & raising costs for us all. I'm a 'No'.

Last week, I voted 'No' on giving more money to the Pentagon, just like I do every year. Why? Because D.C. is always telling us they don't have money to help us with wildfires & homelessness, but then they somehow find TRILLIONS for foreign wars? Yeah, I think not. Read my full statement here:
This week, I joined my colleagues in rallying to pass the the Block the Bombs Act & reiterate a simple idea: if you get American weapons, you must use them in line with our laws & international law.  We are complicit in the destruction of Gaza. We must hold every nation to the same standard.
