My colleagues and I are calling on USDA to use every available tool to keep SNAP benefits flowing. No one should go hungry while Republicans play games.
After cutting $186B+ from SNAP, Republicans shut down the government and put food assistance at risk for 42M Americans. Congress provided funding for exactly this kind of emergency. Sec. Rollins must use those funds and legal authority to ensure benefits can go out in November.
I had lunch with our air traffic controllers, the incredible public servants who keep our skies safe. Yet right now, they’re doing this vital work without pay. I will always support our air traffic controllers and their families. Republicans need to come back to the table and end the shutdown.

Today, I met with our community leaders to discuss what’s at stake if Republicans let Enhanced Premium Tax Credits expire. While Republicans force a costly shutdown and threaten these vital tax credits, Democrats aren’t backing down. I won't stop fighting to lower costs and protect access to care.
Join me for an in-person town hall this Thursday, Oct. 23rd at 6pm to address your questions and concerns regarding the Republican Shutdown and their cruel indifference to our family's access to affordable care. Please RSVP at the link below before 11am tomorrow. I look forward to seeing you there.
In Sacramento, we believe leadership means compassion, not chaos. It’s forged through community. Through standing up together to defend our rights, reject Trump's abuses of power and lift each other up. That’s the Sacramento spirit. And that’s what I’ll keep fighting for every single day. #NoKings
Today we reminded Donald Trump, loud and clear, that in this country WE HAVE NO KINGS. We don’t worship power — WE BUILD IT TOGETHER. In our neighborhoods. On our streets. In our unions. That’s who we are, that’s Sacramento, and I’ll always have your back.

The White House just froze $11B in Army Corps projects targeting blue states. I’ve worked with the Corps for years—across parties—to protect Sacramento from catastrophic floods. Now Russ Vought is playing political games with people’s lives. It’s reckless, dangerous and an absolute embarrassment.
Army Corps of Engineers pausing $11 billion in projects over shutdown, Trump budget chief says
It’s been weeks since Adelita Grijalva was duly elected, yet Speaker Johnson still refuses to swear her in. Why? Because she’d be the 218th signature needed to release the Epstein files. Do your job, Mr. Speaker. Swear her in.
Today, House Democrats gathered on the Capitol steps to highlight how the Republican assault on health care is hurting hardworking Americans. Republicans know the damage being done—they’re choosing to ignore their constituents. Instead of fixing the problems they’ve caused, they’ve skipped town.
House Democrats are here in Washington—united and ready to work. House Republicans? Nowhere to be found. While their constituents face drastic premium hikes, they’ve shut the government down and gone on vacation. That’s not governing, it’s abandonment. Republicans need to get back to work.

In the midst of a shutdown, President Trump has decided Argentina matters more than the American people. Giving $20 billion to another country while you fire your own workforce, raise health care costs, and leave American farmers struggling is not “America First”.
Republicans have shut down the government rather than lower your health care costs. People across our community are already getting their health care rate notices and I want to hear from you. [1/2]
There can be no delay in delivering additional aid, restoring essential services, and building the stability needed to ensure this agreement holds. There is still difficult work ahead. [2/3]
The ceasefire underway in Gaza has brought long-awaited hope—the remaining hostages reunited with their families and a surge of humanitarian aid delivered to the Palestinian people who have endured unbearable loss. [1/3]
I'll continue working side by side with our Tribal Nations to uplift their voices, protect their rights and land, and advance the priorities that strengthen their communities for generations to come. [2/2]
