We must ensure that all Americans can make their voices heard at the ballot box. Democrats and Republicans should come together to pass the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act.
Today, we mark 60 years since the Voting Rights Act was signed into law to protect the sacred right to vote. But our fight continues, especially following efforts to roll back the clock on the progress we’ve made.
Thank you to all our local precincts for working to keep our communities safe: the 104th Precinct, 107th Precinct, 108th Precinct, 109th Precinct, 110th Precinct, 111th Precinct, 112th Precinct, 114th Precinct and 115th Precinct.
It is always great to take part in National Night Out Against Crime in Queens. Yesterday, my team and I attended local events held by precincts serving my congressional district.
Our city continues to be devastated by the senseless mass shooting in Manhattan, which included the murder of Detective Didarul Islam. I was proud to join Assemblywoman Jenifer Rajkumar and Queens community leaders for a local flag raising ceremony in his honor. 1/2
The Republican Budget guts Medicaid & SNAP all to pay for tax cuts that only benefit billionaires. Senator John Liu & I hosted a roundtable in Flushing to highlight the devastating impact this bill will have on Queens families.
This evening, I’m surveying the flooding in Bayside which was hit hard by today’s rainfall. At the Bayside LIRR station, the tracks are flooded out, and passengers had to be rescued from the train. 1/2
Happy National Intern Day! I'm grateful for all the work our interns do to support Team Meng each and every day. Sending a special thank you to our summer 2025 interns – we can't wait to see all you accomplish in the future.
Law enforcement officers in agencies like the FBI and IRS are required to wear badges and identify themselves—and ICE agents should be held to the same standard. That’s why I introduced the ICE Badge Visibility Act: to keep our communities and officers safe.
Sixty years ago, President Lyndon B. Johnson signed a law creating Medicare and Medicaid. These programs continue to be essential for thousands of my constituents. Health care is at risk for over a million New Yorkers. We can't stop fighting to protect the lifesaving care so many Americans rely on.
I voted against legislation that prevents the EPA from protecting Americans against pesticides. Pesticides are known to be carcinogenic. We need to do more to make sure Americans are aware of the health risks that they pose, even in small amounts.
Devastated to learn about this terrible fire in Middle Village. I thank our first responders for rushing to the scene and wish a speedy recovery to the firefighters who were injured. My team and I are here to provide assistance to those who have been impacted.
On this day 67 years ago, President Eisenhower signed legislation to create NASA. Since its founding, NASA has led America's human spaceflight program and driven critical scientific research.
