I first met Rich back in the 80s at a union hall in Cherry Hill, where he was collecting donations to support striking coal miners. The #PROAct strengthens union protections, and I can think of no better person to name this critical piece of legislation after than Rich.
At its core, the #PROAct carries on the legacy of Richard Trumka, by promoting worker solidarity, giving hard working women and men a voice in their workplace, and holding accountable corporate bosses who violate workers’ rights.
I spoke with @lizshuler.bsky.social and Kieran Cuadras, a Wells Fargo Workers United member who was fired for organizing her branch. Captive audience meetings like the ones she faced show exactly why we need the #PROAct.
I know firsthand how important it is to protect workers from unfair labor practices—because I lived it. That’s why I was proud to introduce the Protecting the Right to Organize Act. 🧵

Last month, we led 265 bipartisan Members of Congress in calling for the reinstatement of NLRB Member Gwynne Wilcox. Today, a federal judge agreed with us and ruled that Wilcox must be reinstated immediately.
This is a major win for workers' rights✊
Hard-working men and women keep this country running every day. As a union electrician, I’ll never stop fighting for a fair day's pay for a hard day's work. #EmployeeAppreciationDay
Yesterday, I had the honor of welcoming @uaw.org Local 1069 to discuss their vital work in building the next fleet of American-made aircrafts. It’s always great to stand with my brothers and sisters in the labor movement.
While Trump and House Republicans offer tax cuts to the wealthiest Americans and big corporations, they leave everyone else behind. His cuts to Medicaid will rip healthcare away from millions of Americans, including 16,000 seniors in our community.
To the people of Texas's 18th district, my thoughts are with you. Your community has lost two incredible leaders, but their legacies of service and dedication will continue to inspire us all.
Heartbroken to hear of the passing of Congressman Sylvester Turner. As Mayor of Houston, he led with resilience, tackling disaster recovery, pension reform, and public safety. His leadership will leave a lasting mark.
Trump’s comments tonight only deepen the divide between us and our allies. Neglecting our commitments to Ukraine and NATO puts American security at risk and strengthens our adversaries. The world needs a leader who stands up for democratic values, not cozying up to dictators.

Trump promised lower prices on day one, but so far all we’ve seen is chaos and confusion. His actions have done nothing to lower costs and have already hurt our economy.
President Trump doesn’t get it—federal workers protect our food, water, and air. They serve as doctors at VA hospitals, keep our military ready, process Social Security checks, and ensure our safety at airports. His attacks on union contracts and civil service hurt our country.
As a member of @democrats-edworkforce.house.gov and co-chair of the @laborcaucus.bsky.social, I stand with @aftunion.bsky.social to Protect Our Kids from the Trump administration’s plan to cut the Department of Education. When we invest in our children and their education, we invest in our future.

House Republicans are working behind closed doors to rip away Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid from millions of hardworking Americans, all so they can give billionaires tax breaks.
Today, I joined over 200 House Democrats to send a clear message: Hands off our benefits.
Reading opens doors, expands minds, and helps empower the next generation. On Read Across America Day, we’re reminded of the importance of ensuring every child has access to books, a high-quality education, and the opportunities they bring.
Education is the foundation for our future. Educators deserve the proper resources to help all children reach their goals.
Our veterans deserve to be treated with honor and dignity for all they have done to serve our country. They don't deserve to have their benefits ripped away and their livelihoods threatened.
