We need to conserve the river, protect water levels, and boost funding for projects that reduce our reliance on it.

President Trump, the Interior Department, and the Bureau of Reclamation need to work with us to build an effective 7-state agreement based on today's reality, not century-old politics.
That’s why I helped lead a bipartisan coalition with Rep. Dina Titus calling on congressional leaders to attach drought resilience funding to the next funding deal.
That is the bare minimum to help protect water access for the 40 million Americans who rely on the river.
Those investments are making a difference, but record heat and drought have left the Colorado River at its lowest levels on record
Congress needs to treat this like the emergency it is.
That’s why I helped secure $4 billion for Western drought relief in the Inflation Reduction Act, including $154 million for the SRP-CAP interconnect, $107 million for the Gila River Indian Community, and water purification for Phoenix and Tucson.
On top of that, I’ve fought to secure Tribal water settlements that bring certainty to our Native communities and downstream partners.
Every gallon recycled is one we don't need from the river — but there’s a long way to go before our communities can thrive without it.
I've secured tens of millions in federal funding for local water projects — treatment and conveyance in Chandler, smart meters to conserve supply, line replacements in Phoenix, and reopening Tempe's Kyrene Reclamation Facility.
