My team has been in contact with the State Department, and I'm calling on Secretary Rubio to ensure all Americans abroad receive the support and services they need. They should be treated with dignity, respect, and released immediately. (2/2)
Just days after SCOTUS gutted key protections under the Voting Rights Act, we are already seeing the consequences unfold in Alabama. Another shameful rollback of the representation that generations of civil rights leaders fought so hard to protect. www.nbcnews.com/politics/sup...
Happy Mother’s Day to my incredible mom and to all the amazing mothers across CA-52! Today, we celebrate you and all that you do for our families. Wishing you all a joyful Mother’s Day 💐!
Through this work, he advocates for seniors, family caregivers, and veterans every single day. With a lifetime of service to our community, Joe has made a lasting impact across CA-52. It was great to meet him and thank him for all that he does!
Glad to recognize Joe Garbanzos as our April Constituent of the Month during National Volunteer Month. Joe is the State President of AARP California and the Director of Southern California Region for Filipino Veterans Recognition and Education Project in addition to many other volunteer roles.
As Justice Kagan wrote, this ruling “will set back the foundational right Congress granted of racial equality in electoral opportunity." This is a shameful rollback of protections that civil rights heroes fought so hard for. We will push back with every tool available.
TPS holders are part of our communities, raising families, and contributing $29 billion each year to our economy. Ending TPS and sending people back to unsafe conditions is unacceptable. It would mean family separation, economic harm, and real human consequences. #ProtectTPS
Political violence of any kind has absolutely no place in our country. I’m grateful to the Secret Service and law enforcement officers who took swift action to protect everyone attending the White House Correspondents’ Dinner.
Breaking news: The suspect at the White House correspondents’ dinner sprinted 60 feet past a Secret Service security checkpoint, racing through a magnetometer and reaching the top of a staircase that led to the ballroom, according to a Post analysis.
DACA recipients are losing their jobs and facing detention and deportation because of the Trump Administration's unacceptable renewal delays. We need answers.
Rep. Correa & I led 86 colleagues to demand answers from DHS Sec. Mullin on why DACA recipients are facing major renewal delays—causing financial hardship, job loss, and even detention and removal. DACA recipients deserve protection & a pathway to citizenship, not to be failed by their government.
Last night, Senate Republicans voted to give ICE another $70 BILLION to continue Trump’s mass deportation agenda. If this comes to the House floor, I will vote NO. No blank checks for ICE.
Today I joined Senator Hirono, Senator Padilla, and student advocates to speak out against Trump’s plan to completely cut funding for these programs at hundreds of colleges and universities.
