Portlanders did not want or need the National Guard in the city. Meanwhile, ICE continues to violently harass community members. Safety has never been the administration's priority.

It is a somber day at the U.S. Capitol as we remember the violent January 6th insurrection and the harm perpetrated by criminal MAGA extremists who tried to overturn the election.
My team and I appreciated volunteering with HomePlate Youth Services in December. Organizations like HomePlate play a crucial role in supporting youth experiencing homelessness in Washington County.
I will continue to protect free and fair elections and to have protections and policies in place so we never repeat this painful event in America's history.
I was there that day. It was terrifying and infuriating. Despite the horrors that took place, we performed our constitutional duty and certified the election results.
Today, let us remember the brave first responders who lost their lives in defense of democracy, and the hundreds who were injured and continue to live with trauma.
We must not forget the horrors of January 6th and the attack that shook the nation and world five years ago. 🧵
It's past time for the Republicans to end their capitulation and cross the aisle - like they did with the release of the Epstein files - to hold Trump and this administration accountable.

Additionally, Trump’s illegal actions will encourage other countries, including Russia and China, to take similar illegal actions in their parts of the world.
Maduro is a corrupt and brutal leader who has destroyed countless lives. He should not be in power, but this unconstitutional regime change threatens greater instability in a country he does not represent.
The President's unilateral actions against Venezuela, including the capture of Maduro, constitute an illegal act of war done without Congressional authorization.
Happy New Year!
2025 was a challenging year for many reasons. As we welcome in 2026, I wish everyone a renewed sense of light, compassion, and hope for what is possible.
We will force a vote on an extension in January, but the Republican majority has had multiple opportunities to act before this deadline and never should have let this happen. Now millions of Oregonians and Americans will need to go through a waiting period agonizing over payments they can’t afford.
Today is the expiration date for ACA tax credits that help millions of Americans afford health care. 🧵
2025 has been challenging, but I choose to remain hopeful and to keep fighting. I want to know - what’s giving you hope for the new year? Comment below!
It’s time! As the year comes to a close, I want to take a moment to look back at times that defined my work in 2025. See my Instagram stories for the full 2025 rewind.
I will continue to fight for the safety and basic rights of all Oregonians.
Mr. Medina has been released, but the reckless and inhumane practices of Trump’s Department of Homeland Security continue to violate due process rights and threaten individuals, families, and the economy.
This is another case where ICE used the unacceptable and unlawful “arrest first, ask questions later” approach.🧵
