My thoughts are with them, other emergency officials and first responders, and all those impacted by these devastating wildfires.
If you are in the Los Angeles area, please stay safe and follow local emergency guidance.

The images coming out of Southern California are heartbreaking and awful.
Firefighters from the Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District and Sacramento Fire Department are on the ground in the Pacific Palisades courageously battling the flames and helping save lives.
My statement on today’s joint session of Congress to certify the results of the 2024 presidential election:
When I was first sworn in twelve years ago, I was the sole Indian American Member of Congress and only the third in U.S. history.
Now, our coalition is six strong!
I am excited to welcome even more Indian Americans to the halls of Congress in the years to come.
Honored to cast my first vote of the 119th Congress to elect @hakeem-jeffries.bsky.social Speaker of the House!
It was great talking to FOX 40 this morning to kick off swearing-in day!
Excited to continue serving the people of #SacramentoCounty in the 119th Congress.
I am monitoring the horrific attack this morning in New Orleans. My heart goes out to the victims and all those impacted by this abhorrent act of violence.
New Orleans is a strong and vibrant community, and I have full confidence that its spirit will remain unbroken in the face of this tragedy.
Happy New Year, #SacramentoCounty!
Wishing everyone a healthy, happy, and prosperous 2025.

Wishing you and your loved ones a happy, healthy, and prosperous new year!
We also secured over $295,000,000 in federal funding and grants for #SacramentoCounty. From upgrading our infrastructure to growing our economy, I’m excited about the investments we are making in the Sacramento region's future.
This includes assisting #CA06 residents with stalled passports and tax returns, helping seniors access Social Security and Medicare benefits, and ensuring veterans receive the benefits they have earned.
Our team resolved over 6,600 constituent cases and returned more than $5,000,000 to #SacramentoCounty taxpayers.
As we look ahead to 2025, I want to highlight some of Team Bera's efforts to deliver for #SacramentoCounty during the 118th Congress. 🧵
I send my deepest condolences to the Carter family as we honor his extraordinary life and enduring legacy of hope and humanity.
Jimmy Carter was a great American who dedicated his life to creating a better, kinder, and more peaceful world.
His unending service to others and tireless commitment to advancing democracy, human rights, and global health have left an indelible mark that will be felt for generations to come.
Wishing a joyous and peaceful Kwanzaa to all those celebrating in #SacramentoCounty and across America!
Happy Hanukkah, Sacramento County!
Wishing all those celebrating the Festival of Lights eight days and nights filled with peace, light, and blessings.
From my family to yours, Merry Christmas! 🎄
Pleased to see the Senate vote to send the Social Security Fairness Act to President Biden’s desk!
I proudly supported this bipartisan effort to repeal harmful provisions that reduced the benefits earned by America’s teachers, firefighters, and other dedicated public servants.
Going into the closely divided 119th Congress, we must work together to govern through bipartisanship and compromise–– not brinksmanship via tweet.
