This war has been a strategic and costly failure for our nation. Thirteen American service members are dead, Iran’s regime remains entrenched, America’s diplomatic leverage has been diminished, and Americans are facing higher costs from the gas station to the grocery store.
Happy Taiwanese American Heritage Week! This week, I introduced a bipartisan resolution to formally recognize Taiwanese American Heritage Week and celebrate the contributions of the over 700,000 Taiwanese Americans who call our nation home. 🇺🇸🇹🇼 bera.house.gov/news/press-r...
The DOMINANCE Act unanimously passed out of the House Foreign Affairs Committee! This legislation is about strengthening U.S. energy security, reducing reliance on China for critical minerals, & building more resilient supply chains with trusted allies & partners. bera.house.gov/news/press-r...
@repjohnnyo.bsky.social and I led 14 House Dems in demanding answers from the State Dept about how these layoffs were carried out, whether merit played any role in the process, and the impact these vacancies will have on our national security and diplomatic readiness. bera.house.gov/news/press-r...
The dismissal of 1,350 Foreign and Civil Service employees without clear rationale or justification is yet another instance of this Administration undermining the institutions and professionals responsible for advancing American leadership abroad.
I appreciated the opportunity to learn more about the Sacramento FBI’s work combating violent crime, cyber threats, & financial scams targeting families & seniors in our community. I’m grateful for these dedicated public servants who work tirelessly to protect our region & uphold public safety.
These layoffs show a continued lack of respect for career professionals who dedicated their lives to serving our nation and underscore that the Administration has no clear plan or strategy to manage the State Department’s workforce. thehill.com/homenews/adm...
From infrastructure and public safety to supporting local small businesses, I appreciated the opportunity to hear directly from him about local priorities and how we can keep working together to deliver for our communities.
Despite doing one of the most important jobs in our society, too many educators remain underpaid. I will continue fighting to ensure our teachers receive the compensation and benefits that reflect the value they bring to our students, families, and communities.
That same dedication is reflected in teachers across the Sacramento region and throughout our nation. Our teachers do far more than teach lessons. They build confidence, mentor students, and help shape the next generation.
Happy National Teacher Appreciation Day! Today, I’m thinking of my mom who spent 35 years as a public school teacher. I saw firsthand the hard work, patience, and care she brought to her classroom every day.
