One of the final House votes of 2025 was a vote on @repmcgovern.bsky.social war powers resolution to bar President Trump from military action against Venezuela without authorization by Congress. All Republicans except Reps. Massie, Bacon, and Marjorie Taylor Greene voted to defeat the measure:
I've always opposed American attacks on Venezuela and I oppose them now. You don't need sympathy for Maduro to grasp that attacking another country for unclear, shifting rationales without domestic support or a clear plan for the day after won't make us safer.
At a time of accelerating biodiversity loss, we should be strengthening the ESA to help recover imperiled species. The Trump Administration’s politically motivated deregulation attempts ignore both the science and the bipartisan intent of the ESA.
American leadership on scientific research and technology is at a crossroads, and many of the most important challenges facing our country fall under the jurisdiction of the House Science Committee. I am thrilled to return to the House Science Committee to engage in this important work.
They responded to questions about torturing innocent people with memes. It’s cruelty, inhumanity, and incompetence on a shocking scale. A major national embarrassment that will go down in history.
This is more than a media story — it’s a scandal. Trump & co. broke the law to send people to face horrific torture, many of whom were innocent, and lied about it. THIS Supreme Court held 9-0 that they violated due process laws.
Thanks to reintroduction programs, gray wolves became a wildlife recovery success story. Grey Wolf populations deserve the chance to thrive just like any other creature, removing them from the endangered species list will only threaten their survival.
Just as he did with tariffs, Trump is abusing “national security” justifications to raise prices for the American people — in this case electricity prices.
Burgum: "Today we're sending notifications to the 5 large offshore wind projects that are under construction that their leases will be suspended due to national security concerns ... the Dept of War has come back conclusively that these large offshore wind programs create radar interference"
Measles had been eliminated in the US, yet cases are spreading around the country. This worsening outbreak is a predictable result of the disinformation and anti-vaccine conspiracies spread by the Trump Administration. www.cbsnews.com/news/measles...
The community notes on posts from the Justice Department, Attorney General, Deputy Attorney General, and White House press staff are correct. The Trump Administration failed to release all the Epstein files with proper redaction levels by the statutory date. They broke the law.
