Following Donald Trump and Republicans’ massive tax cuts for the richest few, the wealthiest pay little to no taxes while working Americans shoulder the burden.
Our millionaires surtax would restore fairness to the tax code and fund key priorities for the American people.
Donald Trump and House Republicans promised working families tax refunds exceeding $1,000, but refunds have not met those promises.
On top of that, tariffs added around $1,700 in extra costs for families last year.
More failed promises and added costs!

Republicans promised you hefty refunds. Not only did they lie about that, they drove up the cost of everything too.
The President can’t fire the Fed Chair over mere policy disagreements, but Trump keeps trying to intimidate and remove Jerome Powell for refusing to ignore economic reality and bow to MAGA demands to cut interest rates as inflation rises.
The ALERT Act just passed the House!
I’m glad to see its aviation safety reforms reach the Senate and urge my colleagues to make improvements where needed.
Congress must prevent a tragedy like last year’s from happening again, and that starts with passing this bill into law.
This bill is major improvement on current aviation safety policy, but there are still legitimate gaps and concerns.
As this bill advances, I urge my colleagues to make improvements, close loopholes, and prioritize safety for all over convenience for some.
The ALERT Act is coming to the House Floor for a vote.
I'll be voting YES.
This bill would implement all 50 recommendations in NTSB's final report on last year’s January 29 collision at National Airport, which tragically took 67 lives.
I'm proud to co-sponsor important legislation led by my friend @raskin.house.gov to establish an independent Commission on Presidential Capacity, the body called for in the 25th Amendment to determine presidential fitness.

Donald Trump promised to be "tough on crime" and bring back "law and order” but his DOJ is turning a blind eye to serious crime, including terrorism and drug trafficking, to prioritize a destructive immigration agenda.

The administration’s exemption of oil and gas operations from the Endangered Species Act is illegal, and does little to solve the energy crisis created by Trump's illegal war in Iran. I'm working on legislation to reverse this decision and protect endangered species in the Gulf.
President al-Sisi should end his targeting of activists, journalists, human rights defenders, and critics of his government and free all those wrongfully detained for exercising their fundamental freedoms.
His latest arrest for simply exercising his right to free expression follows a systematic campaign of judicial harassment by the government.
As Co-Chairs of the Egypt Human Rights Caucus, @repdelbene.bsky.social and I urge the Egyptian government to immediately release Egyptian poet, writer, and activist, Ahmed Douma.
Donald Trump gutted the IRS to build a system that allows his wealthy friends cheat on their taxes with no consequences.

DHS has now been shut down for 59 days – the longest funding lapse in U.S. history.
The House returns from its two-week recess this week and Republicans are still refusing to bring the Senate-passed bill to fund the law-abiding parts of DHS to the floor.

At least 2.5 million Americans have been kicked off their food assistance since the Big Ugly Bill.
Trump and Brooke Rollins keep celebrating this cruelty.
On Yom HaShoah, we remember the six million Jewish lives lost and all victims of the Holocaust. We honor their lives, their stories, and are reminded of our responsibility to stand against all hate so that this kind of atrocity never happens again.
Anti-vax quacks like RFK Jr. would rather suppress important health information than publicly admit the Covid vaccine is not only safe, but effective.
American public health should be grounded in science, not harebrained conspiracies.
To be clear: Americans have the constitutional right to peacefully protest. Any efforts from this administration to abuse the authorities of the federal government to target its political opponents will be fought in Congress and in court.
NEW: The Trump administration aims to use the tools of counterterrorism to go after what it calls antifa and leftist groups. It lists antifa as a priority in an internal intelligence document. Some US officials worry this means more domestic surveillance. Gift link: www.nytimes.com/2026/04/09/u...
