During Women’s National History Month, we honor the countless contributions from our women leaders. A shout out to our Women’s Advisory Council and the City of #Paramount for helping make this happen!

Another successful Women’s Empowerment Summit! Our women leaders gathered from all over #CA44 to share their experiences and how they have helped to make a difference in our communities.
These are our family, friends, neighbors, and co-workers who have been detained — most of them have been here for years and have no criminal history. These are the “worst of the worst violent criminals” Trump and Republicans say they’re targeting.
I heard directly from immigrant families at the Dilley detention center how they were ripped away from their children and communities. Children and adults’ health problems are dismissed as non-urgent. This facility waited to make 911 calls when kids were so sick and in distress.
Trump and Republicans are the party of mass deportations. As a result, people are dying in ICE custody and U.S. citizens are wrongfully deported.
ICE released the family to us during our Members’ visit to the facility to conduct congressional oversight. I’m glad the family is out and on their way home.
Let us NOT forget there are many more like them.
Antonio & Caleb, 2 of the Gámez-Cuéllar children, are wonderful high school mariachi musicians who performed at the U.S. Capitol. Their family did everything by the book. They had passed their credible fear interview and had an outstanding asylum case — they never missed a court date or check-in.
Relieved that we were able to bring the Gámez-Cuéllar family back home safely from the Dilley Detention Facility. They should never have been detained in the first place.

There are opportunities available for current college students and recent graduates in both Long Beach and Washington, D.C.
Today, we celebrate all women — here in #CA44, around the country, and throughout the world.
Happy International Women’s Day!
Thank you to all who came and see you again next year!
Free tacos and tax assistance = a great deal!
Thank you to Golden State Opportunity & CalEITC for helping our #CA44 community file their taxes and claim their refundable tax credits. Tax experts help our hardworking families keep as much of their money as possible —that extra money goes a long way.
It’s an absolute disgrace that Speaker Mike Johnson & House Republicans refused to hang this plaque.
This plaque should’ve been hung years ago to honor the brave men and women of the US Capitol Police and other local law enforcement officers who put their lives on the line to defend our Capitol and the peaceful transition of power from Donald Trump’s insurrection on January 6th.
We recommit to the work ahead: protecting reproductive freedom, advancing equal pay, expanding access to affordable health care, and ensuring every woman and girl has the opportunity to thrive.
During Women’s History Month, we honor the women who paved the way and the trailblazers who continue to break barriers in our communities and across the country.
What Jeffrey Epstein & those other men did to the victims was disgusting and sick. The FULL truth of what happened and who was involved needs to come out.
DOJ had no answers on why certain names or info were redacted when I asked. DOJ needs to stop protecting pedophiles, sex traffickers, & rapists.
@housedemocrats.bsky.social continue to focus on the cost of living crisis in America, while Trump and Republicans reward billionaires and raise costs even more.
Heard from parents who budget for every cost but still feel like they’re falling behind, students told me how they work to support their families but it still doesn’t seem to be enough, and small businesses had to choose between paying payroll or their electricity bill.
