I’ve been briefed by federal law enforcement about the operation and arrests in El Cajon today. My team and I will continue looking into this to ensure that everyone involved is afforded their rights and receives due process as mandated by the Constitution.
Why does Secretary Pete Hegseth still have a job? He exposed classified ATTACK PLANS in an unsecure Signal group chat, put our service members in danger, and then LIED about it.
POTUS, it’s time for your favorite catchphrase: YOU’RE FIRED.
There are NO federal protections for your health data that’s used by companies like 23 and Me or period tracking apps. Instead, this personal data can be sold to the highest bidder. That’s why Congress should pass my bill — the “My Body, My Data Act” — to change that.
This is a frightening reminder of why we need comprehensive data privacy laws. HIPAA doesn’t protect consumer data like this – it can be sold to the highest bidder or even shared with law enforcement.
Don’t have a passport? Forgot to renew it? Under Trump’s new executive order, you and about half of all U.S. adults without a valid passport might be barred from voting.
Trump is attacking our election system and making it harder for eligible citizens to vote. This is voter suppression.
Secretary Pete Hegseth, the Situation Room exists for a reason. This is an unbelievable level of incompetence and disregard for our service members whose lives are on the line if classified attack plans are exposed. It’s time to take accountability.
The median home price in San Diego County is now $864,000! That’s out of reach for so many people – especially young people no matter how many jobs they work.
We must bring down the cost of housing and ensure that Gen Z San Diegans can afford to build a life here.
I had so much fun meeting folks at the Rolando Street Fair and presenting a certificate to Greg Jones, who earned the Doris Perry Community Service Award. Creating and being in community has never been more important. Thank you, Greg, for everything you do!
I was honored to speak at the 7th annual FANCY Teen Girls Scholarship Awards luncheon organized by DETOUR, a mentoring program for teen girls of color. As I told these young women, they have so much to offer the world. I can’t wait to see the big things they accomplish!
Secretary Hegseth lied. He said again and again that he didn't reveal any classified information – but any information anticipating the timing of an attack is classified.
It's not enough for Secretary Hegseth to resign. President Trump should fire him.
So amazing to join the Expanding Your Horizons Conference and meet so many young women who are going to take the STEM field by storm!
@scrippsocean.bsky.social's research helps protect our national security, economy, and human health and fight the climate crisis. But now, NIH and NSF grants have been cut off. Grad students are applying for jobs abroad. We are losing the future of science and innovation.
We’re now accepting submissions for the 2025 Congressional Art Challenge! One winning art piece from CA-51 will be displayed in the Capitol for the year. I dropped by Mira Mesa High School to encourage them to apply – and you should too! Apply by April 21st: sarajacobs.house.gov/services/art...
Dismantling the Department of Education will hurt so many students, educators, and families. This is flat-out illegal, and it’s being challenged in the courts.
USD students (and all students!) have worked SO hard to get where they are. Trump’s move to dismantle the Department of Ed – and end Pell Grants and federal student loans – could take away their chance to earn a degree and their hopes for a better future.
Republicans are fighting to take away health care from low-income families to pay for tax cuts for billionaires so they can afford more yachts, jets, and vacation homes.
Cuts to Medi-Cal (AKA Medicaid) would be devastating. 1 in 6 people in San Diego County, including almost 300,000 children, rely on it for health care coverage. Republicans want to sacrifice health care for real people to fund tax cuts for the rich.

Delilah is one of 5 million kids who rely on Medi-Cal in California. She receives critical coverage for numerous medical appointments, treatments, and support coordinating between her specialists and her school.
Medi-Cal is a lifeline. I will never stop fighting to save it.
