As written, the Republican Energy & Water bill raises costs for those trying to make ends meet. Americans expect to work together across the aisle, and find the “Big Middle.” As Ranking Member for House Appropriations Democrats I’m working for all Americans.
Welcomed Susan Zeier and granddaughter Brielle to the Capitol. They championed expanding VA care for those exposed to toxic burn pits. Brielle’s father Sergeant First Class Heath Robinson became the namesake for the #PACTAct — the largest expansion of care in Department of Veterans Affairs history.
June is #NationalSafetyMonth! Join me and the National Safety Council in making safety a priority, from the workplace to every place. This June, let's focus on preventing injuries and saving lives, while creating a safer environment for all.
On the move as USDOT RAISE awards over $19 Million for Metroparks Toledo's Glass City Riverwalk. This new support, coupled with $23.6 Million received from USDOT's BUILD program in 2020, signify a transformative federal investment of $42 Million+ in the heart of the City of Toledo.
🚨Since 2022 reports indicate #OH09 has seen over $1.5 Billion in investments for clean energy. WE are powering American energy independence right here in NW Ohio — creating 13,669 new jobs across the Buckeye State, including 3,163 in rural communities.🚨
We are currently accepting applications for the Fall 2024 internship cohort in our DC Office. Looking for hardworking, bright individuals that want to gain invaluable experience working in public service — apply by July 5th!
Toledo's Lang Railyard is an important component of Canadian National’s transportation network. Visited with Toledo Fire to view safety and first response measures and discuss the facility’s economic impacts.
For 159 years Juneteenth has celebrated the official end of slavery in the US. This day is a reminder of the long fight for freedom, all of the progress we have made, and the work we must continue to do to make good on our nation’s original promise of Liberty and justice for all.
Today we commemorate #Juneteenth, the day in 1865 when news of Emancipation finally reached all enslaved people in Texas, 2.5 years after the Emancipation Proclamation had freed them. This was a pivotal moment in American History which finally became a National Holiday in 2021.
The heat in NW Ohio is no joke. Make sure to drink plenty of water, stay cool, and find the shade when you can. If you need somewhere to cool down, many cooling centers have opened. Find out where by clicking below:
Happy #FathersDay to all Fathers, stepfathers, grandfathers, godfathers, brothers, and uncles across NW Ohio and our country who set an example every day. You do what is needed without being asked. I hope you can take it a bit easier and enjoy your day.
It was a pleasure to visit the USDA Farmers Market on the National Mall, which is a “living laboratory” for farmers market operations across the country. It offers an opportunity to more than 30 farmers, ranchers, and producers to sell their products directly to consumers.
Ukraine is fighting valiantly to regain its freedom. But today I wish to highlight the sheroes of Ukraine, its women. These Ukrainian women work hard, in the fields and farmsteads to feed their families, neighbors, and nation. During war, and during peace.
Happy #FlagDay! As we honor the symbol of our national freedom and unity, I am honored to represent the resilient and patriotic Northwest Ohio community. Let us all come together today to celebrate the Red, White, and Blue.
Sadly, we must honor the memory and passing of Morgan Williams who had the utmost commitment to Liberty. He truly understood the precious potential of Ukraine to our world. May his legacy inspire us all to strive for a free and prosperous Ukraine. Rest in peace, Morgan.
Pleased to welcome the Toledo Regional Alliance to Washington, to continue our work together and bring investments back to Northwest Ohio. Through local and federal collaboration like this, we can achieve great things.
