Republicans already gutted health care for million of Americans to pay for tax goodies to the GOP billionaire donor class.
Now, they’re trying to slash health care again to fund another war in the Middle East and to fund ICE.
I was hoping to make it back to Milwaukee for this #NoKingsDay, but Republican chaos kept us here so late last night that I’m walking from the Capitol Building to go join protesters on the national mall and give Donald Trump a piece of my mind on behalf of Wisconsin’s Fourth Congressional District.
I’m in D.C. and ready to vote right now to fund TSA, FEMA, Secret Service and the Coast Guard. I don’t care if it’s a weekend or if House Republicans have spring break plans. The Senate did their job, and it’s time for the House to do ours.
House GOP expected to reject Senate-passed DHS funding bill, likely extending shutdown of the agency. Follow live updates

There are not harsh enough terms I can use to condemn the Trump administration’s kidnapping of children and their treatment in ICE custody.
The Republican Party is supporting inflicting long-term trauma on innocent children.

"Healing from domestic violence is not just about surviving the moment of violence. It is about navigating the long road that comes after...Without funding for these [DV] services, survivors are left to navigate that road alone." - DCCADV SAB member Shehariah Johnson

Survivors of sexual assault should not have to pay taxes on restitution after enduring trauma.
I support @repgwenmoore.bsky.social's bill to protect survivors & help them rebuild their lives.
Now we need the same commitment to justice for the Epstein survivors—no more protection for the powerful.
This report is a sobering reminder: survivors still face barriers to safety every single day. We must invest in shelters, services, and prevention—because every person deserves to live free from violence.
I joined the National Network to End Domestic Violence as they released the 20th Annual Domestic Violence Counts Report.
I’m so pleased the Survivor Justice Prevention Act passed unanimously in @waysmeanscmte.bsky.social today.
Survivors of sexual abuse who receive related settlements shouldn’t have to pay taxes on them.
Donald Trump was handed an economy with cool inflation, steady job creation and wage growth.
He came in and drove it to the ground with tariffs, tax giveaways to billionaires, a new foreign war.
The American people are struggling and it’s entirely self-inflicted by the GOP.
Donald Trump started a war in Iran without Congressional approval, and Republicans stayed silent.
Donald Trump is now instructing them to not fund TSA.
More expensive flights and longer wait times, but he doesn’t care since he can just use the jet Qatar gave him.
If you’re wondering about GOP priorities… ICE is still getting paid during a shutdown because Republicans gave them $75 BILLION extra in the tax cuts for billionaires legislation that also:
- Cut health care for millions
- Added trillions to the debt
- Left TSA unfunded
Trump killed bipartisan talks and instructed his Republican lackeys in Congress to keep our airports chaotic and dysfunctional.
We could fund TSA today but Donald Trump chooses to play political games.
Donald Trump campaigned on affordability, then got into office and called it a hoax.
Since then all he’s accomplished is slashing health care to pay for tax breaks to billionaires, dragging us into trade wars, and now, dragging us into a real war.
Working families deserve better.
And Mexico is going to pay for the border wall.
Rep. Perry: "I would actually like to see Iran pay for this. Whether it's $20 billion or $200 billion, whatever it is. Look, they've been at war with us for 47 years & it's finally being ended by the president, which is awesome, but it comes at a cost. They have resources. They could pay that bill."
Thank you to my dear friend, partner and champion for moms @govevers.wisconsin.gov for delivering for Wisconsin mothers.
After decades of obstruction by Republicans in the state house, Wisconsin will finally extend Medicaid coverage for new moms to a full year after birth.
No excuses, no exceptions: I will always stand with survivors of sexual assault.
I’m committed to building a system where justice isn’t selective based on an abusers power or status. A system that delivers justice and dignity for ALL.
🚨🚨Before Trump launched a costly and deadly war in Iran, his inflationary policies were driving up costs for working people.
America can’t afford the Republican economic agenda.
