Trump's war in Iran has sent global oil markets into chaos, surging gas prices here at home and increasing demand for alternatives like Russian oil — handing Putin a $19 billion lifeline to strengthen his regime and his assault on Ukraine.
Social Security is not an entitlement; it’s a benefit earned after a lifetime of hard work. Today I met with Dana Kennedy and Jack Lunsford of AARP Arizona to strengthen our partnership and our work together.
The Mesa West Rotary has been quietly serving those in need since 1973, from mentoring homeless Arizona high schoolers to delivering hearing aids in Mexico. It was great to join them to discuss their work and take their questions about what's going on in Washington.
Barney Mullen is a legend at the central Phoenix Denny's. He’s spent 48 years on the job with perfect attendance & a smile that makes everyone's day a little brighter. I was glad to present him with a Congressional Commendation to celebrate his decades of dedication and wish him a happy birthday.
Each month, volunteers at the Society of St. Vincent de Paul's Mesa Urban Farm donate 500lbs of fresh produce to their kitchen serving meals to people experiencing homelessness. I presented a Congressional Commendation to founder Mary Ann Ricketts & her team for a decade of service to our community
Great to meet with Arizona leaders of Delta Sigma Theta at the State Capitol to discuss affordability, home loans for teachers and first responders, and women's health research. I appreciate AZ Social Action Coordinator Dr. Racquel Armstrong and Social Action Chair Latasha Hampton for inviting me.
This month marks 47 years since the Taiwan Relations Act was enacted. Taiwan is a vital U.S. partner and a cornerstone of Arizona's semiconductor future. As Co-Chair of the Taiwan Caucus, I'm committed to preserving and deepening our trade and technology partnerships.
Good to be back with the Chandler Chamber and @uschamber.bsky.social to take questions in their Conversations with Congress series — and to present Terri Kimble with an Industry Leader of the Year award! I'll keep working hard to deliver for our local businesses.
ICE detainee numbers at Mesa Gateway dropped to their lowest levels all year ahead of my inspection with @repyassansari.bsky.social in February. Our surprise oversight visit on Thursday showed the reality: massive overcrowding and dangerous conditions. azmirror.com/2026/04/10/i...
It was great to join the Greater Phoenix Chamber's Political Insider Series on the federal issues impacting local businesses — from the USMCA review to semiconductor investments to water security. I'll keep working to make Arizona’s economy stronger.
It was great to be out in Tempe with Mayor Woods, councilmembers, and the community to celebrate neighborhood leaders and organizations making a positive difference in the city. Thanks for having me!
This weekend I hosted another great Veterans Resource Fair in Tempe to connect people to the benefits they worked hard to earn. My team and I are committed to making sure they can access every one.
Federally funded scientific research helped put people on the moon, develop the GPS and touchscreens in our smartphones, and create vaccines and cancer treatments that save millions of lives each year. Our competitors aren't slowing down. Neither should we.
