Yesterday we gave the Trump Administration a taste of what opposition to his agenda looks like. This is a *temporary* win. Do not let up. We know they will try again to take funds away from working people. Stay ready.

For a party that talks constantly about power and masculinity, there’s an awful lot of groveling happening by House GOP at the foot of the president. You have given away ALL your leverage and the voices of your constituents. Americans will suffer because of it.
I just saw Trump’s latest executive order targeting trans kids and shutting down their health care. I’m asking all of us to stand up with one voice for the trans community.
Trump's executive order to freeze federal aid is already affecting farmers in Vermont. Loans and grants for farmers must be protected. Let’s stay loud.
You're expelling highly trained members of our military who take the same oath and meet the same rigorous standards. Trans people serve our country honorably every day. They are not the problem here.
This tirade against “wokeness” is the problem. In fact, it makes us less safe.
Congress cannot carry on business as usual while the Trump Administration is doing whatever they want with no regard for the kids who will go hungry, the people who will lose loans, or for our democracy.
No more business as usual.
Halting the federal funds headed to our communities hurts us all.
This means money for disaster relief, fire departments, child care, food assistance, farms and so much more.
Not only is this devastating for EVERY state, it's an unconstitutional power grab.
Trump ordered all federal grants and loans to be halted because they "advance Marxist equity, transgenderism, and green new deal social engineering policies."
Disaster relief is NOT "woke". Small business loans are NOT "marxist".
Six million Jews, one of them my grandfather, and millions of others were murdered by Nazis.
On Holocaust Remembrance Day, we honor the innocent lives taken and families destroyed. Never again means countering any and all antisemitism and hate taking root. The work is not over.
So many of us are looking for actions to take to protect our democracy in the face of Trump. We don’t know where to start. Here’s one thing you can do right now.
Donald Trump's ego and immaturity are stonewalling LA rebuilding and recovering. Conditioning wildfire aid to Californians for the mere fact they overwhelmingly voted for Kamala is utterly unacceptable. Morally bankrupt.
To survive Trump, the labor movement is going to need to be stronger than ever. Whenever you get the opportunity, stand with unions and with workers' rights.
Hi everyone. Yes, it's been an incredibly exhausting week with cruel executive order after cruel executive order. We know there's no bottom to the cruelty. We have to turn from shock and awe, to focus and solidarity.
Take of yourselves and one another. We've got a lot of work to do.
Immigrants are the reason for so much of the economic prosperity this country has experienced. Immigrants' hard work, grit and spirit are what have continually made our country strong.
I’m standing firm in this while they try to distract and divide us with hate and fear.
After consecutive years of disastrous flooding, FEMA assistance was the reason we could get back on our feet in Vermont and start the process of recovery and rebuilding. FEMA is a lifeline that we actually need more of. Not less.
Watch my full floor speech:
Trump pardoning insurrections is a safety concern. These are people who beat cops with pipes and flagpoles, tasers and mace. And are now back in our communities.
Steven Cappuccio violently beat Officer Hodges while he was stuck in a door.
DJ Rodriguez attacked Officer Fanone and repeatedly shocked him in the neck with a taser.
David Dempsey stomped on an officer's head and beat them with a flagpole.
All pardoned by Trump. Disgraceful.
Let's talk about Trump's 25% tariffs on Canada and Mexico.
We know these costs will get passed on to us. Vermonters could see prices on energy from Canada skyrocket.
It's not the way to lower prices for people.
On Monday, I watched as Trump took an oath to uphold the Constitution. And then immediately violated the Constitution by trying to end birthright citizenship.

Alignment stats consider only votes where a clear yes/no majority existed for the legislator's party. Cross-party marks divergence where the vote matched the opposite party majority. ↔ indicates cross-party divergence.
