According to Texas authorities, video evidence calls into question ICE's own accounting of the fatal shooting of Ruben Ray Martinez. A US citizen was shot and killed by ICE agents and then ICE and DPS attempted to cover it up for nearly a year. news4sanantonio.com/news/local/f...
Treating pregnant women and their unborn children with such cruelty is unconscionable. I will continue to inspect Dilley and uncover how ICE is treating pregnant women—who they hid from me during my last oversight inspection—to ensure their safety and wellbeing. We must #ShutDownDilley.
Juana said that the stress is so bad that her hair is falling out—that she can’t take it anymore. I am gravely concerned that ICE is failing to meet the most basic medical needs of expecting mothers like Juana while imprisoned.
When ICE first attempted to deport her, doctors and airlines REFUSED to clear her for travel because she was too close to her due date. But ICE shopped around for a doctor and airline that would be complicit in this cruelty.
ICE deported Juana 36 weeks into her pregnancy over the weekend. She had been at Dilley trailer prison for three months with her two young children. She was fearful of giving birth while imprisoned.

The U.S. State Department has called for U.S. citizens in Mexico to shelter in place after today’s Mexican military operation that killed drug lord Nemesio Oseguerra, known as “El Mencho.”
An ICE agent shot and killed Ruben Ray Martinez, a US citizen and San Antonio resident, in March 2025. Then ICE and the Texas Department of Public Safety covered it up. He was 23 years old. I am calling for a full investigation into this shooting, including why there was an 8-month cover up.

Today’s Supreme Court ruling is an affirmation that the president is not above the law. Congress has constitutional authority over tariffs, and I am glad to see the highest court uphold this.
San Antonians and families across the country deserve lower costs, not reckless trade wars.
We are laser-focused on tracking them down, holding ICE accountable for this monstrous action, demanding specific details on their whereabouts and wellbeing, and ensuring their safety.
To unnecessarily deport a sick baby and his entire family is heinous. My staff and I are in contact with Juan’s family.
According to their attorney, ICE deported the family with only the money that they had in their commissary—a total of $190.
After a discussion with their attorney, I have confirmed that Juan, his 16-month-old sister, his mom, and his dad have been deported.
I am praying for the Jackson family and all who knew him. May we build on his legacy as we continue to fight for justice.
I am saddened to hear of the passing of Rev. Jesse Jackson. He was an incredible leader that touched the lives of so many. He made this country stronger and inspired generations of social justice leaders to follow in his footsteps and do what is right.
We are all deeply concerned that Juan and his mom will be deported and that Juan’s health will continue to deteriorate. His life is in danger because of ICE’s monstrous cruelty. I will continue to provide updates and we will keep fighting to protect them.
Juan’s mom went in front of an immigration judge this morning. She was told she will be deported, but was not told when or where. Both Juan and his mom are back at Dilley and their future remains uncertain.
Me and my team have been in contact with Juan’s family. Juan has bronchitis—according to his mom—and at some point in the last several hours he was unresponsive. Juan was still discharged from the hospital despite that around midnight today.
