President Trump has taken us to war with Venezuela, but why? Regime change, power, graft, oil, land.
On the House floor, I urged my colleagues to vote for my War Powers Resolution with @repmcgovern.bsky.social and Rep. Thomas Massie to block the President’s illegal war and protect American troops.
Every member of the House of Representatives will have the opportunity to decide if they support sending Americans into yet another regime change war.
On Thursday, the House will vote on @repmcgovern.bsky.social, @RepThomasMassie, and my resolution directing the President to end hostilities with Venezuela.
Sec. Rubio & Hegseth just briefed the House on military operations in the Western Hemisphere—despite Congress not authorizing them.
I will have, alongside Reps. McGovern & Massie, a War Powers Resolution on the House floor blocking Trump’s hostilities with Venezuela.
Every member should vote yes.
Happy Hanukkah to all who celebrate in San Antonio and across the country! May you have a wonderful, joyous, and peaceful Hanukkah.
A moment of Jewish celebration has turned into mourning—this is a horrific act of antisemitism and it has no place in our world.
My heart goes out to the families and loved ones of the victims of this horrific attack during a Hanukkah celebration in Sydney, Australia. I am praying for those injured and in critical condition.
Our students deserve so much more. My heart is with the victims and families of the horrific shooting at Brown University today.
Congress must step up and end the epidemic of gun violence in our country.
Last week, I introduced a War Powers Resolution with @repmcgovern.bsky.social and Rep. Thomas Massie . This bipartisan bill would block Trump from starting a reckless and lawless regime change war with Venezuela.
It will be on the House floor for a vote next week.
Trump can’t have it both ways. He can’t claim to go after drug dealers and pardon notorious drug kingpins.
For Americans, U.S. service members, and allies, the Trump Admin must end its lawless and dangerous military strikes in the Caribbean.

The Trump Administration is threatening to levy an additional 5% tariff on Mexico that will backfire and make life even more expensive for folks already struggling with the high cost of groceries, gas, and healthcare premiums—we don’t need another reckless move that will hurt hard-working families.
In Congress, I am pushing for legislation that will direct the VA to provide Congress with an annual report on veteran suicide so that we can improve prevention strategies. I have also advocated for legislation—now law—that provides more funding for veteran mental health.
We lose 17 veterans by suicide each day—one loss is unacceptable.
Thank you to all the promising students who have already demonstrated a profound commitment to our country, and thank you to our panel of interviewers—Larissa Martinez, Danny Ingram, Noah Aran, and Belen Plasencia—for inspiring our future leaders.
It's one of my greatest privileges in Congress to nominate young women and men to attend U.S. Service Academies. This year's candidates for our Service Academies were extremely impressive.

Trump is illegally striking ships in the Caribbean to "go after cartels" only to pardon drug king pins.
It's complete hypocrisy, it's recklessness, and it's lawlessness.

The dissent made it clear: the majority is now “rewarding intentional discrimination.”
Texans are going to keep fighting.
