Since the start of the president’s illegal war in Iran, Illinois drivers have seen gas prices rise by nearly 40%, worsening the affordability and energy challenges families are already facing. Speaker Johnson, when are we going to start voting to lower prices for the American people?
This week, instead of voting on bills to lower grocery, housing, health care, or energy costs, Speaker Johnson has chosen to focus on partisan, fear-driven legislation. That’s where things stand in Congress right now: no action to lower costs for working families, just more political theater.
Congressional Republicans want to hand ICE a $38.2 billion check with little oversight or accountability. Instead of investing taxpayer dollars in Medicaid, Social Security, SNAP, or lowering energy costs, my Republican colleagues are sending a clear message: you are not the priority.
I joined the Elmhurst Chamber of Commerce for a walking tour of the Spring Road Business District to hear directly about the challenges and opportunities facing small businesses in IL-06. From family-owned staples to locally-owned businesses, small businesses continue to drive our local economy.
I recently toured Finkbiner Equipment, a family-owned manufacturing facility in Burr Ridge. Finkbiner Equipment has been serving the community since 1963. We had a meaningful discussion about how technology is impacting their industry and the opportunities to build the next generation of workers.
I joined the La Grange Business Association and Village President Kuchler for a roundtable and walking tour of downtown La Grange, meeting with local business leaders to discuss the opportunities and challenges facing small businesses.
I recently met with UCAN Chicago to discuss the needs of children and families across Illinois, including behavioral health, youth development, and child welfare. UCAN provides support for historically underrepresented families, including violence prevention, foster care, and therapeutic services.
Are you having trouble with a federal agency or experiencing longer-than-expected wait times? Call my office. We can help cut through bureaucratic red tape.
I joined the 95th Street Beverly Hills Business Association for a walking tour of multigenerational businesses in the heart of Beverly. We visited Southtown Health Foods, Live and Believe Wellness, Top Notch Beefburgers, and Essential Creations to hear about their work and impact on the community.
Last week, I was proud to join the Illinois Environmental Council for a roundtable focused on tackling skyrocketing electricity bills and building a cleaner, more reliable energy future through my Energy Bills Relief Act.
This week, I met with members of the Alsip and Willowbrook Public Works Departments to hear about ongoing infrastructure projects and the work being done to keep these communities running strong.
I had the honor of visiting Watts of Love in Downers Grove. This organization is bringing solar-powered light to rural communities around the world while also empowering families through financial literacy and management training programs.
As part of my Small Business Week tour in Glen Ellyn, I joined the Glen Ellyn Chamber of Commerce to visit several local businesses and organizations shaping the 6th District. Small businesses are the heart of our communities, and it was great to hear directly from the people behind them.
I’m proud to recognize Ricardo Estrada as my next Constituent Spotlight for his continued dedication to helping families in our district get back on their feet. For more than three decades, Ricardo has served families across Chicagoland, making a lasting impact on thousands of lives every year.
Yesterday, I toured small businesses in Western Springs including Ella’s Italian Pub, Village True Value Hardware, United Home Loans, Hillgrove Tap, and Mattix Music Studio. Small businesses are the heartbeat of our economy, Small Business Week is a great time to celebrate and support them.
Today, I visited Runnion Equipment with the Associated Equipment Distributors and M&M Quality Grinding and Pioneer Service, two family-owned and operated manufacturers in Hodgkins. I enjoyed learning about opportunities to build the next generation of skilled workers in IL-06.
