I’m in Washington–ready to reopen the government. Republicans are on vacation. Trump is overseas. Americans are hurting. This madness needs to end.
One of the best parts of my job is speaking with young Coloradans. Great speaking with Cherry Creek High School debate students about how they can become more involved with their community & government. The future is bright because of these young leaders!
Congress needs to reclaim its power. From trade, to treaties, to war powers, to appropriations, our Founding Fathers believed Congress had a fundamental role in foreign policy.
Democrats often think we’re having a policy discussion. We’re not. Instead, we need to have a discussion about restoring trust with the American people.
The middle class has been gutted by bad trade deals, foreign wars, and automation. We need a different approach to earn back the trust of the American people.
When people pound their chest and talk tough in Washington, they’re not talking about going to fight themselves. Instead they’re sending young kids from working class towns to do the tough stuff for them.
Failed military interventions. $3 trillion spent in overseas wars. Three million combat tours. Over 7,000 U.S. servicemembers dead. America's failed foreign policy over the last 30 years has been borne by the working class, not elites.
Before I was in Congress, I was an Army private. Since then, the world has been turned upside down. Folks no longer trust the foreign policy establishment. And they shouldn’t—because it failed them in so many ways.
The President pardoned Jan. 6th insurrectionists who assaulted cops. These same folks are now being arrested (again) for threatening our leaders. Is anyone surprised? Trump's actions are not only wrong, they're dangerous. www.washingtonpost.com/politics/202...
$250 million for his ballroom. $40 billion for Argentina. $172 million for Kristi Noel’s two private jets. $0 to lower your health care premiums.
JUST IN: The White House has begun DEMOLISHING portions of the East Wing of the White House to build Trump’s $250 million ballroom — despite earlier claiming it wouldn’t “interfere” with the existing White House structure. (Washington Post)
Colorado is a leader when it comes to space! 🚀 I enjoyed visiting United Launch Alliance in Centennial and taking employee questions at a town hall. Our state’s growing aerospace industry means good jobs for Coloradans.
