[2/2] After bombing Iran for weeks — killing many innocent civilians — the only “help” Trump is offering is to cut off electricity and, for many, water. Iranian civilians are trapped between a tyrannical government and an erratic, unreliable Trump.
[1/2] Trump urged Iranians to rise up against their government, pledging to punish their leaders, yet did nothing as the regime slaughtered thousands of protesters. As he launched his reckless war on Iran, he again called on Iranians to rise up.
Congratulations to NASA and the crew of Artemis II on this historic milestone for humankind! And a special congratulations to Austinites and fellow Longhorns Emily Nelson and Judd Frieling, who are both playing a huge role in seeing humanity return to the moon after 53 years.
BREAKING: Artemis II breaks Apollo 13’s distance record as humans travel farther from Earth than ever before.
Great Tx Capitol rally to save Big Bend from Trump‘s wall. Nature created enough wall in Big Bend many millennia ago. While we had a bipartisan rally, no elected GOP official showed up. All of Tx Dem Congress members have joined me in appealing to the Trump regime to end any intrusion in Big Bend
As the Trump regime escalates attacks on civil liberties, including free speech and voting rights, I am pleased to earn a 100% rating from the @aclu.org. I will keep fighting to protect the constitutional rights of every American from extremist Republicans’ attempts to drag our country backward.
[2/2] In the four years of defending itself against Russia, Ukraine has received 600 Patriot missiles from the US, while in just one month of war with Iran, the US has burned through 1800.
[1/2] Another gift from Trump to Putin! Not only has Trump’s illegal war with Iran financially benefitted Russia’s oil industry – adding more funding for the Kremlin’s well-oiled war machine –it is also diverting critical defense systems from Ukraine, like the Patriot missiles.
[2/2] As we enter week 6 of Trump's war with Iran, objectives remain unclear and lies are rampant. Questions are met with contempt from an arrogant Hegseth, who is more preoccupied with reciting "warrior slogans" than with the wellbeing of the American servicemembers he's commanding.
Trump’s exaggerated claims were insufficient to protect the fighter jet shot down today over Iran. Thankfully one crew member rescued and praying for the safety of the other. Our American servicemembers continue to do their jobs as Trump and Hegseth fail in doing theirs.
[2/2] The opposition of Congressional Republicans to our War Powers Resolution and extended silence about his unjustified action endangers both our American servicemembers and innocent civilians.
[1/2] Last week, I spoke again about Trump continuing his reckless war into a second month with more death & destruction, a depleted weapons stockpile, a bill for $200B, soaring gas prices, and a repressive Iranian regime still intact and more hardline than ever.
[2/2] With our public schools chronically underfunded, the Republicans didn’t seek to strengthen public classrooms. They were mostly channeling taxpayer funds to subsidize those who had already chosen private academies.
[1/2] Governor Abbott promoted his voucher scheme as “school choice.” But a new study shows some had already chosen--76% of applicants weren’t even enrolled in public schools last year.
Putin is making a killing—literally a killing—thanks to Trump’s sanctions relief & reckless war spike of oil prices. Russia is earning about $9 billion monthly as its crude has surged from around $60 a barrel to over $100. Trump is fueling Putin’s well-oiled war machine to keep killing Ukrainians.
Good riddance to Pam Bondi, who weaponized the DOJ against Trump’s political enemies and continuously ignored the law to protect the Epstein class from accountability with her botched release of the files. You won’t be missed! Of course, the real problem is not Pam but Donald.
[2/2] I am pleased that my repeated outcries about this have led to a record number of 31 controller trainees assigned to Austin. We just need more progress to avoid a catastrophe here.
[1/2] Understaffed air traffic control towers are a public safety issue in many parts of the country, but especially here in Austin. After years of sounding the alarms about Austin’s lack of air traffic controllers, we still have only half the number of certified workers that the FAA says we need.
One year ago, Trump promised his "Liberation Day" tariffs — paid by other countries, not American consumers or small businesses — would "lower prices for consumers." Instead, his tariff taxes have already cost the average American family more than $1,700 each. www.latimes.com/politics/new...
[2/2] While this latest decree will be challenged in court, it is yet another reminder that we need more of our neighbors to get involved now to overcome the barriers Trump will continue raising. The future of our democracy is at stake.
