I also had the opportunity to present NCSSM alum Dr. Christina Koch with my resolution designating May 20th as National Women in Aerospace Day which recognizes the work of trailblazing women throughout history, including Dr. Koch.
I was grateful for the opportunity to greet the Artemis II crew here in Washington. They have inspired a generation, and as Ranking Member of the Space and Aeronautics Subcommittee, I won’t stop defending NASA funding to ensure we can continue pushing our space program forward.
Thank you to everyone who joined us to celebrate this year’s Military Academy Nominees from #NC04! This group of students continues to push our nation forward, and I’m proud to see so many young people with the interest and willingness to serve our nation.
Though the legality of these markets remains contested, it's clear that they pose risks to young Americans. Congress needs to have a full understanding of user demographics, internal policies, and safeguards in place by these companies as we work to regulate these platforms.
I’m leading a letter with @reppaultonko.bsky.social to 10 prediction market and sports-betting companies demanding clarity on how much revenue and what percentage of their users are between the ages of 18 and 24.
Trump is making taxpayers front the bill for his immoral war that is killing innocent people. Inflation is up and wage growth is slowing. We must pass a War Powers Resolution to prevent Trump from continuing to put servicemembers, innocent lives abroad, and the wellbeing of our communities at risk.
Congresswoman Valerie Foushee (D-NC) adds, "Trump’s illegal war in Iran is showing up as rising gasoline prices at home, with the current average for gasoline in North Carolina at over $4.20 a gallon, an increase many families simply cannot afford" especially with utility bills also skyrocketing.
National Nurses Week is an opportunity to show our appreciation for the wonderful nurses who keep #NC04 safe and healthy! Thank you to these dedicated professionals who are doing incredible work, day-in and day-out.
Last week, I joined @protectourcare.org for a virtual press conference to highlight the end of Medicaid Awareness Month. Protecting healthcare access is a simple step Congress can take to support working families.
The short deadline our government gives STEM international students to find a sponsor for their work visa is increasingly unrealistic in Trump's economy. I’m introducing the Stop the Brain Drain Act to extend the period that graduates on F-1 student visas can remain in the United States.
