I'm working with colleagues in Congress to fight back.
We will use every tool we have to stop this administration from weaponizing federal agencies to silence critics. The First Amendment and a free press aren't negotiable.

This is how authoritarian regimes often control the press. They threaten their ability to exist until self-censorship does the work for them.
And this isn't just a threat at Disney, it's a direct message to every newsroom in America: air content we don't like, and we'll come after your licenses. Report critically on this administration and your entire business could vanish overnight.
This is the kind of move we condemn when it happens in other countries. It's happening here now.
One FCC Commissioner called this "the most egregious action this FCC has taken in violation of the First Amendment to date."
I have a lot of thoughts about the Trump Administration forcing Disney/ABC to renew its broadcast licenses early.
It is blatant government retaliation against a network that airs critical voices. 🧵
April is Child Abuse Prevention Month.
Everyone can play a role in preventing child abuse by recognizing the signs of abuse and supporting children and families that have survived violence. Go to childwelfare.gov to learn more and access trusted resources.
The White House budget director won't tell us how much this war is costing American taxpayers, but we can all see it, every day.
It’s costing you higher prices at the grocery store & at the gas pump, because this administration expects Americans to scrape by and sacrifice for Trump’s war of choice.
Had a great time speaking to the inspiring young leaders of the Armenian Assembly of America!
They’re in town for their annual Advocacy Summit, and we connected about my work championing Armenian issues and I learned more about their goals for the future.
This year’s Congressional Art Showcase was a masterclass from some of the amazing young artists in CA-30. I’m so grateful to each student for sharing their art – pencil, paint, collage, photograph - every piece was powerful.
Thank you the Ebell of LA for hosting us in this beautiful space!
Those high-speed chases we see on the evening news might seem like a normal part of living in our region, but it doesn’t have to be that way.
My Next Gen Road Safety Act will help prevent chases before they even happen – and save lives in the process.
Please read more about it here:
Proud to have helped secure the funds needed for this project when I was in the Assembly!
Everyone who traverses through this beautiful (and busy) stretch of Griffith Park ought to be able to do so safely. That’s why I’ll continue to fight for more improvements to road safety like this in Congress.
The long-awaited Geffen Galleries are now open at LACMA, and I was proud to be there for the ribbon-cutting!
Great to support museums all over my district as they expand and reinvent their spaces to welcome a new generation of museum-lovers.
Political violence has no place in our democracy.
Grateful to the officers and security personnel who kept everyone safe last night at the WHCD.
This week, I took to the floor of the House to mark the 111th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide.
I will keep working to free the Armenian prisoners, end military aid to Azerbaijan, and ensure future generations learn the truth about what happened 111 years ago.
I spoke at ANCA Burbank’s annual Armenian Genocide Commemoration last weekend because 111 years later the fight for truth and recognition is far from over.
I will continue standing for truth and justice for Armenians – in America and in their homeland.
I will always stand with the Armenian community in their efforts for peace and safety around the world. (2/2)
111 years ago, 1.5 million Armenians were arrested, exiled, and killed at the hands of the Ottoman Empire. It was a genocide that is still denied by some to this day.
That denialism manifests today, where we are continuing to see persecution and attacks on Armenian communities. (1/2)
I’m fighting to make housing, healthcare and education more affordable, and to undo Trump’s giveaways to the ultra-rich. (2/2)
Trump and Congressional Republicans gave the ultra-wealthy a tax cut 390 times BIGGER than the one he gave the rest of America’s hardworking families.
This is an attack on working people, and completely unfair. (1/2)
