We must never waiver in our commitment to Veterans. Yet Trump's attack on VA employees and his cuts to health care have made it more difficult for Veterans to get the benefits they've earned. House Democrats will keep working to fulfill our sacred duty to care for them.
60 years ago, we made a commitment to representation. However, voter suppression is on the rise, as the Voting Rights Act is attacked & undermined. It is imperative that we pass the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act to ensure every American can participate & is represented in our democracy.
Trump’s Big, Ugly Bill was never about fiscal responsibility. It is about delivering tax breaks for the richest 0.1% of Americans and cutting programs that make life affordable for hardworking Marylanders, including public transportation services.
While Republicans strip these programs to give tax breaks to the wealthy, Democrats continue to fight for the promise of affordable health care in America.
60 years ago, a promise was made to take care of our seniors and the most vulnerable. Medicare and Medicaid have been a lifeline for families across the nation.
BARC has been the foundation of our country’s excellence in agricultural research for over 100 years. Congress and the courts must block efforts to shutter BARC for the center to continue protecting public health and supporting farmers & farming in the U.S.
Cuts to conservation and green energy projects would have a severe impact on the communities they support in every corner of the country. I urge my colleagues to stand against this environmental plan in order to preserve our air, water, and protected lands.
Republicans are slashing Medicaid for millions and want everyday Americans to foot the $3.4T bill to fund tax cuts for the wealthy. The Congressional Budget Office's latest report makes it clear: the big, ugly bill will have expensive consequences for the nation and American people.
While Democrats and Republicans may not find common ground on every issue, we must take action to preserve Congress's power under Article I. I will continue working with my colleagues across the aisle to create bipartisan solutions that serve the American people.
