This is authoritarianism 101. Trump is abusing his power to intimidate and silence critics, and Jimmy Kimmel is just his latest target. I'm signing onto @repyassansari.bsky.social’s resolution to reaffirm the right to free speech and denounce what’s happening.
Great to chat with Bill McKibben about the importance of renewable energy in addressing the climate crisis, the challenges posed by fossil fuel interests, and more. I'm grateful for conversations like this as we work to accelerate the transition to a sustainable energy future.
Federally recognized tribes deserve equal access to economic development opportunities that come with putting their land into trust – but that process is broken. Our bipartisan bill led by Congressman Tom Cole would help right this wrong and ensure success for our tribal partners.
Congratulations to the #CA02 Congressional Art Competition winner, Annabelle Wiatrek Trum! It was so nice welcoming Annabelle to the Capitol to celebrate her win, and I’m thrilled to see her artwork in the halls of Congress.
As wildfires tear through communities across the country, Republicans want to cut our Forest Service budget by 76%. It's reckless and completely destructive. On #TheFlipSide, I'm fighting to protect and expand our resources.
Federal agencies have been neglecting wildland firefighters' health, leaving our communities vulnerable and weakening their efforts to hire new firefighters. I sent a letter alongside @repdexteror.bsky.social and @neguse.house.gov to our federal agencies to address this crisis and demand answers.
(2/2) We will continue standing with our immigrant communities and pushing back against this injustice. Check out this page to learn your rights and stay safe: huffman.house.gov/helping-you/...
(1/2) ICE agents can now stop you if you speak Spanish, look a certain way, or work a certain job. It’s one of the most appalling, destructive forms of racial profiling we’ve seen from Trump and the Supreme Court – and it’s impacting our communities here in California.
Vaccines are safe and effective. Florida is sending us back decades – effectively paving the way for another catastrophic public health crisis. The Trump admin has been sowing the seeds for this extreme recklessness, and it’s going to cause a lot of preventable deaths.
Republicans want to cut over $77 billion from California's clean energy budget. This change would raise costs for families, derail American energy independence, and curb clean energy efforts.
Thank you to Los Cien for hosting @mikethompson.house.gov and me for a conversation about the priorities and concerns of the Sonoma County Latino community. In the face of Trump’s vicious crusade against minorities, I’m doing everything I can to protect our most vulnerable communities.
The GOP admitted their plan for Social Security – and it’s to cut benefits, hand over your $$ to Wall Street, and risk dissolving this program entirely. Democrats are fighting back to protect your hard-earned benefits from being stripped away by extreme Republicans and their billionaire buddies.
